This is perhaps the third time I have watched the above film, but this time it is being shown on FX, with interviews of the Director and the Actors and excerpts from shooting the film.
Seldom are the Author's interviewed or the ScreenWrters, and this is no exception, which disappoints me, as the writer is the creative force behind everything else.
But, again, without the rest, the screenwriters, director and the actors, there would only be a book and not a film...
Dakota Fanning, described by Denzel Washington as, "nine going on nineteen", is a legitimate child star of amazing ability. It is said she learned to read at age two and spoke three languages before she was ten years old.
I read she is also in the "Twilight" series and I have seen her in "UpTown Girls" and another film set in the South that I did not enjoy.
Having talented daughters and grand daughters myself, I can only look on in amazement as this young lady takes direction and speaks of her craft. She is absolutely and unbelievably talented and I hope against hope that she will not experience the 'Lindsey Lohan' syndrome that seems to strike so many talented young actors and actresses.

In 2004, Dakota appeared in the violent thriller, Man on Fire (2004), alongside Denzel Washington. Her reviews were excellent.
