I can easily believe you were good in that - but how did you avoid burnout???

Cranking up the music on the drive home every day. Grabbing a shower first thing when I got home. It was like "that part is over, now let's relax." Weekends helped, too. It's hard to hold onto things when you're being twirled around a dance floor following your partners lead.

Mental preparation is so important, especially when you know that the day is going to be a challenge. It’s the surprise gotcha days that really set me back on my heels.

I had one of those surprises first thing Monday, and it was three days before I could talk about it without tearing up. The little things that helped were being able to vent about it with friends and OC who made me laugh through my tears with "swear. swear lots." and reminding me to eat and drink. That's usually first thing that flies out the window when I'm stressed or sick.

🫂 That is horrible! Three whole days and I might need to be medicated! I sincerely hope that the rest of the week went much better! ❤️

Ah. There's the difference. For me, working means I have energy for dancing less than monthly, maybe 1-4 times a year. When the weekend comes, I'm all for resting and nothing else really. And that is not enough for the mind.

At least I can just rest. I had prepared for being horizontal and snacking instead of having meals (because meals are exhausting in this condition). Not too bad mentally, mostly just bored and a bit frustrated.

Sometimes just taking a lazy down day is the perfect medicine.
 
Rest up, Sweet Owl. Hopefully tomorrow is better.
I'm hoping for Friday, really... Tomorrow another rest day, 1 day didn't suffice last week so now I'll need even more as I didn't get enough then.

Maybe find some comfort food too. Just go for broke on relaxing. Hope ya feel better soon!
