Another old testement story? No I do not believe that the daughter of a priest that has sex out of wedlock should be burnt alive. That it happened in the times of the old testement I can believe.

Thank you for giving me the bible reference. I believe that at the time it was like that. It is hard to explain - the Bible is like a two book boxed set. You read the first book (In this case the old testement) and think you have it all until the sequel comes out and explains everything clearer. Simply put Jesus came. Things changed. They aren't contradicted. They changed. Most people look to 1 Timothy 3:7 for pastor qualifications. No I don't believe all priests and pastors should have their testicles inpected before being allowed to be ordained but in certain translations it sounds like they did in the time spoken about in leviticus.

They say that Roman Catholics tried to impose the testicle rule after the embarrassment of Pope Joan stopping a parade to give birth.

I have no problem with gay people. Have had thoughts about it myself. Have gay friends. The bible says that it was not what God intended as I read it. But he loves us no matter what. That's just it. I'm not God. Every person has to define what is their truth - as you articulated. I am not going to tell a gay person they are sinning against God. That is up to them to decide. Maybe there are things I don't know. I am on here just to tell what my beliefs are -not to condemn any other views. In fact it is interesting to learn about all forms of faith. I'm glad God let's us use our minds.

You know I agree with you. People of the Muslim faith are being condemned because of the extemists that use hate to give people fear. Christians are judged by extremists that spout judgement and hate. I'm sure I could go on.

It is interesting because there is some balancing of ideas in the bible. Things that were done in the Old testement could be brought to be something different after the coming of Jesus in the New Testement. We don't have to sacrifice goats or whatever anymore for example because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. If the old testement said to you the coming of Christ could very well change that in the new testement. Interesting thought.

ARe you finding a passage in Leviticus that says I should be the judge? I am just interested I couldn't find one.

Indeed, Needles is a smallish, backwater, community on the Colorado River. It is fairly quite, and few big events occur to stir up the citizens. However, a few miles north is Sodom and Gomorrah, where a person's every lust is catered to with near flawless precision. You would not believe what a man, or woman, can take from those casinos/whorehouses, or from the streets for that matter. It takes about an hour for me to go there, pick up what I need, or want, and return home. Too, I have a pick of beautiful young things from around the world, but that is another story.

I think the inherent problem with the God of the Old Testament compared to the New is that if Jesus knew the will of God, why did it contradict so much of what God did previously?

God does a bunch of dumbass stuff.

And then Jesus says that God wants you to Judge not, lest ye be Judged, while saying that God will Judge you.

So therefore I suppose I'm just following Jesus's words by Judging God based on his own holy yardstick. Comes up short.
