Most blacks vote Democrat, most Hispanics vote Democrat, most Asians used to vote Republican but now vote Democrat, and women are also turning to Democrats.

It seems like it's now rich white men who are on the reservation, eh? :D

The future ain't lookin' too bright considering that whites won't be the majority by 2050...

Republican Party R.I.P.

The time they are a-changin'.

Pity the poor Republican Party. They are fractured in Congress - about the only thing the Republican congressmen can agree on is that if the Democrats want something (anything), the answer and their vote is NO.

The mainstream "conservative" Republicans have an internal party battle with the Tea Party Republicans. The biggest item that the Evangelical Christian faction seems to have is a moral issue: anti-abortion (from the instant of conception) /anti-stem cell research /anti-Planned Parenthood - anything involved with abortion; Roe vs Wade be damned.

Coalescing items seem to be a position against any enhancement of gun control (the NRA funds its congressmen well), less government/pro-big business, and lower taxes and elimination or reduction of "entitlements". The core of the Republican Party are "the rich" - they own or manage big business and financial institutions. They are opposed to tax reform/progressive tax increases that could diminish their wealth. Entitlements are a huge portion of where our taxes go and include Medicare, Social Security & SSI, Welfare/Food Stamps, and Unemployment Compensation. I suppose that those who are gainfully employed and who pay taxes may have a righteous indignation to funding those who do not work and cannot pay for decent medical care.

Immigration is another hot button. Immigrants are often seen as those who will draw from our funds and not contribute. Obviously if that is true, immigrants will likely be Democrats. The Caucasian population is not growing, whereas Latinos and other non-white ethnic groups are, because they often tend to procreate at a higher level - bigger families. The cultural landscape in the U.S. is changing. Whites will no longer dominate and the Republican Party needs to reinvent itself if it intends to compete in the future.

Quite honestly, I would prefer it if everyone were an independent and there were no political parties. Let each man's (or woman's) platform be of his own, not beholden to the ideal of a party.

Most GOPs now could paraphrase Will Rogers:
"I don't belong to any organized political party. I'm a Republican."

Don't count them out yet - there's still 2016. The party of the rich white man will want to do enormous damage before they become obsolete - which they will.
