I submitted an edited version of a story (or tried to submit) for re-publishing. When I check in Works it shows the saved draft but nothing under pending. Did I do something wrong?

Under drafts, open up the stories draft, go to the bottom of the page, make certain all of the boxes are checked, and hit Preview & Publish. Once it shows the next screen verify (or whatever it is), and that should do the trick.

Thanks for your help, I checked everything as you said and clicked the "publish." Then I scrolled thru the draft and discovered it had the story listed twice, one copy under the other. Should I just delete the whole thing and re-submit?

How you proceed is up to you. It will not post a story with an identical title period, and in order for this to be resubmitted, the Word EDIT should be at the end of the title of the edited version. If you have two draft copies of the same work, delete one.

You can edit (in this case, cut) in the Preview box. Get rid of the duplicate text, Preview again. If the text is now correct, Publish.

I reckon I'm the confused one. I thought he'd posted the same story twice with the same title.
Yes, I did that once and deleted one of the pending. Then when I went back and read the edited draft I discovered the story was duplicated on the same draft. So, I did cut one of the stories and then clicked on published. Hopefully I got things right.

Thanks, that is exactly what I did before you posted this, but it's reassuring to know I did the right thing. I just checked and it shows 1 draft no pending, is that right?

It sounds like you still need to publish it.

When I open the draft, I get this notice: "You started to edit this story previously but did not submit your changes to the server. Do you want to continue with your local version, or load the version saved on the server." It give two choices to click on,"Use local version" or "Load from server."

If you have a draft on Word, use "Local version" and start the submission process again, with the whole corrected text copied and pasted in from your computer.

If you've been a bit silly and only used the submission box for making your changes, you'll have to "Load from server" and make all your changes again, saving as Draft regularly.

Then Preview, then Submit. You're not completing all the necessary stages.
