Problem with Edited Story.

I submitted a story for editing. (https://www.literotica.com/s/the-first-meeting-52). It appeared in the pending folder as normal. The story then appeared to be edited on my dashboard, but for some reason it was still sitting in my pending tab despite being updated on the site. I deleted the pending edited story, and then the original reverted back to how it was with the errors. I have resubmitted the story again for editing. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Edits are a troublesome thing on Lit. You have to wait for them to be approved, and then a few extra days before they actually appear.

At this point, your best option is to send Laurel (the site owner who handles the story side) a DM and explain what happened. You probably won't hear back, but with a bit of luck she'll get it sorted out.

Editing can be glitchy. I suspect the issue here was deleting the pending story too soon, before it had actually been processed - there's a 24 hour cycle when different bits of the site update refresh at different rates.

This time, don't touch anything, whilst the story is in the edit queue. Go away and write something else, and come back in a month, is the best advice. Edits always take a while - unfortunately, you've started all over again.

Ahhhh I see, if it takes the month then so be it haha. Too quick to delete. I’m actually in the process of writing my second story so that’ll keep me occupied. Thank you

I haven't before heard of the exact problem you're describing. As others have said, edits are a problem, and updates are slow. What normally happens is you submit an edit, it takes a month or so before they get round to processing it, then the pending edit just disappears. Your story is unchanged. This, understandably, freaks a few people out it. But if they wait for another day or so, the edit is then applied to the live story.

So in the normal situation, the edit disappears from Pending first. I haven't seen your situation reported: the edit gets applied to the live file, but the Pending version stays up. I wouldn't know what to do about that. I think I'd wait a few days, then cross my fingers and delete it . . . and if, as in your case, that reversed the edit, scream! Then calm down before messaging Laurel; don't scream at her, she's a good person trying to juggle chainsaws. If you explain it clearly, she might be able to fix it quickly.
