No kidding. We have 2 unis here. I ride and drive out of my way sometimes, just to brighten my day.

Funny think is, if you would have asked me four years ago if I wanted any..I would have said "yes, I'd like 3" The older I got, the more selfish I got. I'm ok with that though.

1. I agree that too many people become parents because they just think they should.
2. I think that, with mothers especially, their lives become so wrapped up in having and raising kids that, to say you don't care for kids, is to say you don't think they (the mothers) are worthwhile.
3. See, you actually AREN'T selfish. It would be selfish to have a kid that you don't really want. We have this image that there are kids floating around in the aether just waiting to be born, like puppies in a shelter. In which case, we WOULD be selfish to not help them. But you can't be selfish in denying someone your attention when that someone doesn't exist. I don't care for Mickey Mouse, but I don't feel like that makes me selfish

I confess that if you've fucked two members of a band, and keep getting raunchy texts from one of the other 3, it's probably best if you don't go and see them live.
Especially if you then get so fucking mullered you end up sending a drunken facebook message to one of them (thank fuck I wasn't so drunk it ended up on his wall)

ICT I never had the needing-kids-to-be-fulfilled gene, and I don't feel one bit guilty, terrible or unfeminine because of it. There is no shortage of children being born because of me sitting on the reproduction sidelines.

ICT I often feel the flip-side of #2 with some of my siblings. Hearing that I can't know something or do something because I don't have children is just as hurtful and marginalizing... and just as much BS.
One would think they would be "scarred for life" from all the times I babysat them.
I still struggle sometimes with not having kids, but for the most part I realize that it's something I can neither change nor rectify given my current physical condition... the lack of sexual partners helps, too.
ICT makes me so sad.
While I haven't had as many chances as some... sharing these sentiments with a lover has really added to the experience IMHO.
