I'm looking for a program for my computer by which I can record music.

What I mean, and I am not expressing this very well, is that I can record small sound wavs using the sound recorder that come with windows, but it will only allow me to record approximately 60 seconds of music. I would like to have something that will allow me to record any length I want.

I'm not in the market for an ultra-professional type program. I'm not gonna be starting a recording studio or anything. :D

Ideas?

Recording

I use Music Match to record from the microphone on my pc. I haven't done any music, just voice stuff, but it makes decent quality mp3s and I don't think there's a limit on file size.

I have no idea if it's the best one, but it works. You can download it at http://www.musicmatch.com/

recording music

most sound cards will have recorders that you can do music voice etc. Or depends on if you want to pay for some really good profesional music software. Personally i use the ones that came with my creative live 1024 sound care seem to work for me.:)
Have friend whos really in to music in a big way he records and writes stuff. If your still looking PM me and I will find out what he uses. I know he will have the best he can get :)

Did you say something?

I'm having trouble concentrating; I think something about this thread is making it hard to think.

Is it hot in here?

I use a program called goldwave. Nice and clear and works well. I used it to turn a couple of audio books I had on casetter into cd's. Nice and easy.
