College Football Season

Johnny Friggin' Football had dropped anywhere from 12-1 to 15-1 to repeat as Heisman winner; after the NCAA announced their approval of Texas A&M making Manziel ineligible for only the 1st half against Rice this Saturday, and that the NCAA had no further interest in pursuing any other possible action against him...

...the bookies immediately made Manziel the 3rd favorite player to win the award this season, at 6-1 odds.

Here's the current top 10:

Braxton Miller (Ohio State) 3/1
Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) 5/1
Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M) 6/1
AJ McCarron (Alabama) 8/1
Teddy Bridgewater (Louisville) 10/1
Marcus Mariota (Oregon) 10/1
Tajh Boyd (Clemson) 12/1
Aaron Murray (Georgia) 15/1
TJ Yeldon (Alabama) 18/1
DeAnthony Thomas (Oregon) 18/1

Clowney has my vote. :)

Don't 29 year old, lesbians who love chatting with other bi/lesbian women, and are interested in some BDSM...

...know they don't have a vote with who wins the Heisman?

BTW:

How's that facade working out for ya?

I want Aaron Murray to win the Heisman....
I suspect Jadeveon Clowney will win it.

A fellow Giants fan?

Are you into the NFL as well? I'm looking for someone to replace an owner in Lit's fantasy football keerer league.

Any interest?

Thus is my first season doing fantasy football, do I'm not sure exactly how it works. I think I should pass, don't wasn't to let anyone down. Thanks for the offer though

He's getting a lot of publicity early, and that will help him. Usually you only hear about a defensive player making a Heisman case if there's a perceived lack of "real" candidates (e.g. the way the Manti Te'o bandwagon got rolling last year, before people finally coalesced behind the Money Badger).

But in practice, unless you're a quarterback who works in an uptempo offense, you're probably not going to get enough attention to win. Which is why I think the strong dark horse is Marcus Mariota (my guess is Manziel has pissed off enough people that he will find it very hard to win again).

Braxton Miller has a shot, but it's not easy to win the Heisman in the current era if you're not putting up insane numbers. QBs used to be able to win the Heisman on "leadership," but it's become a stats award completely. Even if he rushes for 100 yards a game and passes for 250 (which is basically what Tebow did when he won the Heisman, running the same offense Miller will be running), I suspect that won't impress people enough.
