The quoting in this thread is atrocious.
I think many do care. Perhaps they are doing what they can to take care of their own families, in spite of what the government is doing.
Also, I would bet if a real conservative ran for office and was not afraid to speak out against obama (for fear of making someone "feel bad"...or making themselves "look bad"....but just spoke truth), I would imagine that person would win.
Rev. Carson comes to mind.
Support for the repeal of Obamacare has plummeted from 46% at the beginning of 2012 to 33% in November 2012 (latest data available). I sincerely doubt it will be repealed any time soon.
Another thing to think about is the changing demographics within the United States: white folks are basically 50-50 evenly split on Obamacare, black folks are about 60-40 in favor of it and Hispanics are tremendous fans of Obamacare by a solid margin of 75-25. I don't need to remind you that this latter demographic is absolutely exploding in population growth.
I always smile when you conservatives talk about the need for quote real unquote conservatives to run for office. As I see it, no two conservatives can seem to agree on exactly what constitutes a "real" conservative.
In any event, conservatism is on the decline in the United States, and deservedly so in my opinion, as "let Granny eat cat food" is not a viable formula for national greatness.

Vettebirther is having trouble using a computer as of late. Just yesterday he C&P'd a PDF link from his own C: drive.
Because Mitt Romney didn't speak out against Obama?
I think he spoke against policy but didn't attack the man personally as the democrats choose to do. The people who voted for Obama seem to like the attacks better than debating policy....IMO.
Dr. Carson... How is he different than any other conservative that says they're unhappy with health care reform? And once you're done answering that, tell me about his foreign policy credentials.
He is different as he was willing to share exactly what he thought about obamacare and the state of the nation....right in front of Obama. Obama seemed to do his best to ignore....or that is how it looked on TV.
As far as foreign policy credentials, I haven't idea. But Obama had none or very little and was elected anyway. Guess it doesn't necessarily matter when running for the potus.

The percentages you state are probably quite accurate and very telling of what is important in this country.
I hate to bring in God as we all know how popular He is here, but the decline you speak of us probably also true. Some may see it as "progressive" or "changing", but I would imagine those who are believers would see it as prophecy being fulfilled. So yep, you are probably correct....it will continue on this path.

You do know Jesus was a socialist, right?
Which Republican has been afraid to criticize Obamacare? None of them. So tell me why Dr. Carson is any different. I don't expect you'll have an answer.
what might really be helpful is if the issues were addressed as they relate to practical solutions, which will take longer to find as long as one side is so very critical of the other, allowing those in need to wait while pride (in the name of righteousness) and greed interfere with our ability to provide service.
I really... really.. think Jesus would agree with me on this one
Obama was a Senator for four years and was on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Homeland Security Committee, and was the Chair of the Committee on European Affairs.
You said you're not sure what Dr. Carson's foreign affairs experience is. Maybe you could do a little Googling and get back to us?
She will ignore that just as staunchly as the DNC and left wing america would ignore it if Obama nuked a few US cities for shits n' giggles.
I mean just look at merc...Obama could come in and savagely murder his wife and kids, merc would shake his hand and suck his dick for it...and so would I.
"Anything for the almighty!!! he can do NO wrong!!" - Merc

maybe we should look up "socialism" too
I think the republicans that are "in power" in Washington like their power...what little they have, if any. They have liked the way politics have been played there over the years. They don't want to change it and will not call to the carpet any potus that they don't agree with.
The Tea Party members that were elected were more apt to try and do this, but the establishment republicans fought against them.
Romney would criticize obama's policies, but follow up by saying what a good man and family man he was.....all the while the dems were saying that romney killed some man's wife because she had cancer, hated dogs, etc.... Obama would not get near his own policies nor campaign on them, or obamacare as he probably knew that would not go over well. He just attacked romney on things that truly did not matter, or were made up.
Carson spoke about things that so many truly believe. He stood there in front of obama and shared how obama's plans are failing and would continue to do so....even offering up a solution to taxing. I loved how he asked why the intent was to hurt those who make alot? why hurt anyone?
I truly do not know much about him, but I respect him tremendously for having the fortitude to share his own beliefs, even with the potus sitting right there.

No, Dr Carson was not brave at all. He ambushed the President with a political lecture at a non-fucking-political prayer event that has brought both parties together for thirty years. It was cowardly and inappropriate to abuse the intent of that forum, especially when he knew Obama could not respond to him.
Your definition of "fortitude" is pathetic. Imagine if some Democrat took a moment to speak out against Bush's policies at Jenna Bush's wedding reception, okay?
