Since joining Literotica several weeks ago, lurking & posting a bit, I'm becoming more and more interested in the psyche of people here....catching a glimpse of the essence of a person!! Fascinating!

Please share something about your childhood.

It can be anything:
- where you grew up
- how many siblings
- a happy, proud or even traumatic experience
- your first crush
- an obstacle you overcame
- what you wanted to be when you grew up

details people...it's the little details I like to ponder....

My first real crush was on boy in the sixth grade named Dale.

My mom caught us kissing.

She wasn't amused.

I, however, had discovered a great pastime.:D

I had one half brother......he lived away. My father was a drunk and at every chance made me feel like a total dick. Now that i'm 48 i am a much better fater than he was. My kids come to me and i'm glad that they do. Both are good kids and have given me alot to be proud of......

Is that what you were asking?....I forget.

- where you grew up New Jersey
- how many siblings one of each, tho' one's since died.
- a happy, proud or even traumatic experience My first car, a '62 Rambler American--ugly, but mine.
- your first crush Donna R., 6th grade, and only from afar.
- an obstacle you overcame My fear of rejection (but that was only today)
- what you wanted to be when you grew up An iron worker, high steel (I settled for architect)

It can be anything:

- where you grew up I spent most of my childhood travelling, I attended 13 primary schools in 6 years.
- how many siblings 1 sister.
- a happy, proud or even traumatic experience Being picked for my state's Equestrian team.
- your first crush The guy next door.....how I loved him so. My parents hated him with a vengance, I spent many a night with him after climbing out of the window in my bedroom on the second floor - that is until the night my father was waiting at the bottom!
- an obstacle you overcame Peer pressure
- what you wanted to be when you grew up Happy - and I am!

Random Childhood Memory.

I remember the last time I saw my father... You know - my supposed "real" father.

We lived pretty damn close to school - with a large playing feild seperating us. So I walked home... like any other day. I remember that day because it was raining hard and the wind was trying to blow my feet out from under me... it seemed like I wasn't suppose to see my father.

When I got there, he gave both me and my brother that lazer tag stuff that was so popular... I used to love that stuff. He spent very little time with either of us - talking to my mother and my then-soon-to-be step father. I later learned that soon there after he left for Germany.

I honestly don't remember his face very well... I'm told that I look a good deal like him and I have a number of his mannerisms. *shrugs*

I was born in West Virginia and moved here to Michigan (aka Hell) when I was 2 years old. This is where I grew up and still live.

I've one annoying little brother.

My biggest obstacle ws my self-consciousness. I finally got over that while on a trip to Toronto with a friend. We went to a goth club called Savage Garden and that's where I got over my fear of dancing in front of others. I now have no problem, in fact I love to dance. :D

Where I grew up? On a hill overlooking the West Lancashire plain in Northern England. During my childhood the village that I lived in turned into a town. I spent most of my childhood in the countryside in farmer's fields, in quarries looking for fossils. Basically anywhere that I wasn't supposed to be.

I've got one younger sister, two years my junior. She has just gotten engaged to a soldier.

A proud moment. There are lots. OK here's one. When a piece of music that I composed was performed in a school concert.

My first crush was on a girl called Hester. Her family moved into the area from Devon when I was in 3rd year Junior/ Year 9 (they changed the year names that year. A new teacher had just started so I blamed it on her. I thought she was so dumb that she couldn't understand the old system, of course the government had changed it). I did tell her eventually. She wasn't my first girlfriend though. That was a girl called Natalie when I was 6. She kept sending me love letters on Strawberry Shortcake paper. I had a string of girlfriends before I even 'discovered' girls. They were kind of one sided affairs since I was more interested in playing soccer or soldiers than holding hands.

Bit of a shame that that trend ended.

I was a child! If there any obstacles in my life I just didn't notice them. There are plenty now but that's adulthood for you.

WhenI was very small I wanted to be a pig farmer, then a policeman, then a palaeontologist. That was by the time I was 7. But I stuck with palaeontologist right the way through. I still want to be one, but those obstacles have gotten in the way.

Growing up was really fun and memorable. I'd spend a lot of time with my aunt and my grandmother because they lived right next door to each other. There was huge tree inbetween the houses that we would all climb and pretend it was a plane dropping pine cones down to the ground pretending to bomb stuff. The fences were lines with grapevines and we would pick them off and eat them till we got sick. There were tons of fruit tree's in my aunts backyard that we would pick at.

I remember my first crush was in fifth grade with a kid named Tony. We walked home after school one day holding hands and the next day we got teased about it.

I think the worst memory I have would be when my older brother moved across state and I was unable to see or talk to him for six months. He had moved in with my uncle in Mammoth and when he came back I was so happy to see him. Before that I was extremely depressed because we were close.

Please share something about your childhood.

It can be anything:
- where you grew up

Detroit

- how many siblings

I have two siblings. I'm the protective, rebellious, hero, eldest child.

- a happy, proud or even traumatic experience

Traumatic: I watched a childhood friend die from a drive-by shooting. I saw him almost make into the door his father was holding for him. I kept thinking, "Kenny, get up!"

Proud: speaking for my class graduation from middle school. My parents were beaming. Second, would be winning my first writing competition in the fourth grade.

- your first crush

Not sure. Stephen in third grade. I was convinced we would marry and have a kids and new white washer and dryer. Have no idea why I was thinking about appliances at 9.

- an obstacle you overcame

Addiction. You've seen all the trivalized movies and episodes on t.v. so I won't bore you with details.

- what you wanted to be when you grew up

Lawyer, teacher, writer. two out of three ain't bad. One professionally is pretty cool. Shooting for number 2.

Peace,

daughter
