OK this is a two-parter. (Guys, feel free to chime in but I don't reckon this will be all that interesting for ya.)

First, Mr Keen was out of town last nite, so I figured I'd take the opportunity to rent a film he wouldn't really particularly enjoy watching. You know, one where the characters actually talk to eachother, and with no car chases or explosions. So I got this film called "Crush" with Andie Macdowal (sp?) and I was wondering if anyone else has seen it? Because I would really like to know, from another woman, if she thinks she would be able to forgive her friends, the way AM's does in this film. (If you've seen it, you know what I mean.) I don't know if I could.

Second, as Mr Keen is away overnight every other week or so, anyone have any recommendations for any other good girlie movies?

most anything from the 80's... they're all really funny on top of the chick flick theme. there's a few with Ally Sheedy in them (cant remember the names of them) that are not quite as funny to watch but have a good story to them

Hey, I think you're trying to divide the board into two groups again. I wan't stand for that!

And you thought you could slip this one by me! Ugggh, I have to go look at flooring tonight, that's worse than watching "Beaches".

Damn, cool beat me to it! Beaches was going to be my first recomendation :D I've seen so many chick flicks that it's hard to choose but that was the first to come to mind.

Bed of Roses and Only You. Both are romantic chick-flick type movies. Hubby's don't like them. Usually.

I'm not really into them myself. Especially the dramas. Ick. Too weepy. Comedic flicks are great.

I am sensing a pattern. I don't want to give anything away, but does the woman always die?

Dunno about Beaches. Don't know if I'm willing to fork out actual cash to see that.

I like comedy and romance more than drama, optimally though a bit of all three.

I do tend to like foreign films but unfortunately the TV in our flat is kinda small so if I get anything with subtitles I'll need to sit like a foot away from the screen.

ps the "Crush" movie I mentioned on my original post has some rather nice sexy bits. Nothing explicit, more implied, but nice. If you like the idea of Andie romping with her knickers around her ankles with a fit young man in a cemetary, that is.

Yeah, Return to Me is a great chick flick. The Rouge, however...I'll just bite my tongue.

Oww.

oooh and also...

Boys on the Side :D Whoopi Goldberg, Drew Barrymore, Mary-Louis Parker & Matthew McConaughey... need I say more?
