I'm having trouble editing my profile information. Every time I click on the "Edit Profile", I get pushed to the "Change Password" page.

Can anyone help?

I did the good Canadian thing and updated my profile to show my new email address. Huge mistake. That minor little correction locked me out of my account! I gave up sending messages to the great administrator in the sky and setup a new account using a new name. Thank you Yahoo.

One would think - since you already understand 'it will never be fixed' - that you'd either accept it and enjoy what you can, or go to another site where you are happy.. where there are no creeps, liars, and morons.

The entire infrastructure of the site is being updated from older technology and frequently modded old code in order to accommodate modern features and meet mobile display requirements Google is implementing with relation to search ranking.

When you're tearing something down practically to the ground behind the scenes while still keeping the basic functionality of the whole site up and running, you have to make sacrifices. Every minute you spend fixing something that glitches out is a minute you're not moving forward with the full rebuild.

Taking the time to explain that is taking away time that could be used to work on the project as well.

And fixing something in software that's slated for upgrade to the latest version is even less time-effective. Upgrading to the current VBulletin is one of the stated goals of the site rebuild.

You don't replace the starter in a car to drive it to the junkyard.

My guess is that the linking fixes are being worked on with an eye toward the future. The current version of VBulletin isn't included in that future. They're probably making sure everything is going to work properly in the new version they're going to roll out. If they can solve the issue in the existing version in the meantime, that's all well and good, but it's probably not the priority, and should't be.

Remember, this is an enormous site with a massive database and around a million unique hits a day. Keeping the core site functioning ( which does not include the forum. It's irrelevant to the majority of visitors. ) is an absolute necessity.

last I checked it did not cost any of us one dime to use this site and it is add free.

yes there are lots of little glitches at the moment and these are annoying, but this is an old website and it does need to have things updated on the back end and this is what the administrators are trying to do without breaking everything and just making a whole clean slate do over.

Update the authors profile, then link it to this side?... in Your signature... that way people just click on a link and theres the info. Boom, done, then we can wait impatiently for them to actually fix the profile problem...
