Chain Story - Bathtubs and Broomsticks

I don't see why it shouldn't. You have Mina and Lucy beginning a relationship and Lucy’s career taking off, and add in a growing anxiety from Mina about what the hell just happened...

I've put the beginning of a Mircalla chapter into the shared document as Ch. 6.5.

It’s published! My chapter, that is. I submitted and it got sent back for “not being a chain story.” I think they have automated rejection for this category, because obviously they didn’t read even the author’s note I had in the beginning. Did anyone manage to get published without re-submitting?

Anyway, I re-submitted saying it is too a chain story, and now it’s published. Yay!

Thank you @AlinaX for herding these cats and thank you @TheRedChamber for kicking this whole thing off! I’ll read the other chain too, maybe, probably, some day 😁 (I still have many pink orchids to pick that I didn’t yet get to.) This was fun and educational and good as a once-in-a-lifetime experience 😁

I've said this before, but I've long wanted to write a Bathory story and to write it with the depth it deserves. Doing it as a collaboration has made that possible by introducing many characters, each given life and depth.

I've enjoyed the research, and just wish I could have gone to Cachtice first to see the town and fortress and surrounding area. It's on my bucket list for sure, and... maybe next year?

This is my second real writing collaboration. It's a mixed experience. We authors are very invested in and protective of our characters, and a collaboration means letting other authors both add value and depth to them, and take them sometimes in directions we don't necessarily agree with.

I think it was right to keep the supernatural as subtle as possible, but I also know we've all found that a little frustrating.

The chain has reached an end now, but I don’t think it is finished. I'm writing a chapter for Mircalla, and would encourage others to pull at threads that compel them.

But a huge thank you to everyone. See you all at the premiere...

Easy for me. I didn't have any characters and I barely touched the ones that I inherited. :)

I have 7 votes now so that’ll be all us authors and AMD, and that’s all the attention I think it will get 😁 very quiet category. I was surprised there were stories other than our chain or the matchmaking chain though.

I haven't read it yet, so someone else must have voted for me. I'm still at the base of the mountain that's @Erozetta's chapter and I haven't read any of the later instalments.

I've seen a few stories posted there by writers who presumably thought it was for series by a single author. Someone posted a chapter and was expecting other a couple of other people to add further chapters, but I don't think they did..

What surprises me is that the "New Stories" list still has stories from May 2018. That's pre-pandemic!

Just back from some important family matters. I'll read and get to work on more; I've quite enjoyed, problems and all, working in concert with you all.
