Can I avoid ice cream this summer?

So, I'm not big on sweets and I may not be able to understand staying away from ice cream. But would lemon ices or popsicles be a good substitute?

My aim is to use flavored ices and similar instead of store bought fat cream by the gallon. I get quarts of plain yogurt for example and can blend that in with ice and berries or other fruits. Or just water, ice and lemon or lime juice run through the blender.

Should be just as cooling and refreshing without the fat producing mess.

Yep. Nice cream. It's just as good.

😊

The home made whatevers are working fine so far, even on mid-90 degree days. Still no store bought stuff this year.

There is much confusion on this thread. Soft serve may be a dairy product, but it is not ice cream. Ice cream is not a summer thing it's a year round thing. Well actually here in new England it's more of a religion.

No store bought yet despite many 90+ days.

Blenderized concoctions approach something resembling it, but not really.

me too

Lol and here I am avoiding slushes...I have a real addiction. Trying to find the perfect cherry slush...not to icy or carbonated, the perfect cherry flavor...
I am glad to know that someone else obsessed with this too!Unfortunately i have not a place that i like so if i am desperate i have to settle for a crappy icee!
