Another year and fresh start for the Survivor event here on the site. I have taken upon myself to host this as a celebration to the old Survivor competition that I joined as a newbie on the site over 10 years ago. For me it felt invigorating seeing others being creative and have a loose ruleset to challenge me in writing in categories I have never thought of before. So what is Survivor 26 I hear you saying... Glad you asked.

Survivor is a year-long writing challenge where participants earn points by publishing stories in as many different Literotica categories as they can. You join at any time by posting your intention to participate and creating your own scoreboard thread. All normal Literotica submission rules apply, and the date of publication is what counts, so plan accordingly. It's good to know that every story during the year counts so even if you join late the stories before joining counts.

Each category has three cap levels. The first three stories in any category always award points (3 points for the first, then 1 point each for story two and three). To progress beyond those caps, you normally need to have written in a set number of different categories. You can also unlock a cap early by spending Gold stars (), letting you continue scoring in that category without completing the others. So even if you technically can publish past the cap you can't score the points until you have unlocked the level in a category.

Gold stars () are the event’s currency. You earn 1 every month and 1 for every story you publish. can be spent in the Perk Shop on things like Point boosts, double-category stories, or unlocking caps early. This gives you freedom to push in your strongest genres or to open new scoring paths depending on your writing pace.

At the end of the year, the writer with the highest total score is crowned the Survivor champion and is showered with praise from the participants and the silent praise from all the readers of the site who enjoyed the stories written.

Unlock System (Replaces Immunities)​

Caps are no longer unlocked one-by-one. Instead, they unlock automatically based on how many different categories a participant has written in.

• Level 1 unlocks at 10 categories
  Opens the first post-cap tier for all categories.
• Level 2 unlocks at 20 categories
  Opens the second post-cap tier for all categories.
• Level 3 unlocks at 30 categories
  Opens the third post-cap for all categories.

Participants who do not reach the category count can use to unlock caps in individual categries.

Perk Shop​

You earn in two ways:
• 1 per month (automatic)
• 1 per published story

Stars can be spent on perks at any time. To spend , simply post in your own scoreboard thread what you bought and subtract the Stars from your total.

Available Perks​

1) +1 Point Boost ()
Add +1 point to any story you have written during the event. You may buy multiple boosts, but only one boost per story.

2) Double-Category Story ()
Declare one story as counting for two Literotica categories at once. Note that on the regular site it is still only in one category but in the Survivor event you can add the same story to another category if you can argue that it could fit in that category. You must state the two categories when using the perk and mark them down in the Star meter section of your Scorecard..

3) Unlock a Cap Early ()
This unlocks the next cap level in a single category without meeting the usual “number of categories written” requirement.
This lets you continue scoring in that category immediately.

Some examples of notating the scorecard​

The scoreboard is personal and as you post your stories fill out the correct categories so others can see and read your new story. Below you have an example category filled out correctly and how to notate spent as well. Take inspiration on how to fill it out for best effect.

The points are not cumulative so when you reach your second level (written in 20 categories) your total Additional bonuses should be 10p.
