Buffy: Countdown to the Apocalypse

Don't forget for a second what he is. A soul-less animal. Pure and simple, he's evil. No two ways about it. Sure, he can still love. Doesn't make him any better a being. I'm willing to forget the rape attempt since it occured when he didn't have a soul. All of that said, most of his tough guy act is largely that, an act. As a human he was a quiet, shy, awkward poet. As a vampire he's all that, playing the tough guy.

We'll see what happens now that he's be ensouled.

Hmm, you sound like the friend that got me watching this show in the first place. lol

We had a huge argument after that rape scene.

What's even funnier is that I linked him to this thread (not a LIT member) and he totally did not want to come in here. Said he didn't want to take any chances on reading a spoiler.... Wanted his Buffy pure. LMAO

I'm having fun reading it on the other hand. I don't mind getting a little insight on the show before it happens.

Spike's got a clean slate now, as far as I'm concerned. Emotionally, i still don't want to like him, though I thoroughly enjoy his character. But logically, he deserves a chance with his soul.

Isn't that amazing how someone's imagination (writers) can manage to twist and turn your (us) mind like that?

B)Have Willow come together with Xander thus fulfilling a relationship quite possibly(notice I say possibly) for 17 years of their lives and bringing the show full circle?

first off yes of course it bothered me that tara died i enjoyed her as a character but i dont think that it is homophobic or anything like that to kill her off ... its a story and i understand things like that happen

but to make willow be with xander is the weaker story because it would never happen in real life and its unrealistic yes i know buffy isn't the most realistic show but you asked me which would be the better story and i think even though the show is in an unbelievable setting believable storylines and characters make the show good

i just dont see the point in writing a character to be gay and then changing her back ... its insulting to a viewers intelligence i would think also

also to stick a gay character in for ratings and then write her straight because its hard to write for her would be very poor writing skills by joss whatever his name is :)

Joss is a genius.

No. Just because it wouldn't happen to YOU or some people you know doesn't make it unrealistic. With some people, it make be unrealistic. With others, unlikely. That in no way rules out the how millions of times it's happened in the billions of relationships our world has seen.

First, it's Whedon.

Second. All that matters is the story. Not what's going to make people happy, not what's going to offend people. As long as the story is magnetic, it's all, all worth it. Willow and Xander. Willow and a Mr.T-shaped dildo, I don't care. I just want the best possible story, no matter what it should be. What you're saying, it seems, is that it wouldn't be right because you personally don't agree with it. It's the story, and only that. Not any of our personal feelings.

And hey, I'm not picking a fight. I just love Buffy debate.

im not fighting either rasta its obvious we're not going to agree though but life would be boring if everyone agreed :)

i feel kinda strongly about this subject though being lesbian myself and i understand what it is like being gay when you're young media and tv have a huge influence ... from what i've read though joss whedon (thanks for telling me his name i forgot) he has said he understands the resposibillity of writing in a gay character ... and he has said willow isn't going to be straight

i do agree with you that i also enjoy a good story but a good story has to make sense also i know you don't agree with me but what i know about being gay it would be a very silly story to make willow straight

but anyway i know you wont agree but its still nice talking with you about it :)

Why does everyone keep talking about the possiblity of Joss changing Willow from Gay to straight? Thats why we have the option of bisexuality.

Its obvious that Willow had feelings for Xander and vice versa at one time. Yes, they've had a close emotional bond since they were 4, but who's to say that it wasnt love at one time or another?

On the same hand, I'm also a believer in the fact that a man and a woman can have a close 40 year friendship, and even love each other (but not be in love) , without ever crossing a sexual or intimate boundary. Which leaves the option open that Xander and Willow both "thought" that they had feelings for each other but were just confused because they were teenagers. What we got to see of them (Willow crying in the girls bathroom because Xander gave up his virginity to Faith or Xander and Willow kissing in the library) might have been them realising the difference between having a love for each other and actually being in love.

All of that said, I really think that whether or not Willow has a relationship with Xander or any other man is up to Joss. I've read several articles that say that she will not be made straight. But it was never mentioned whether or not there would be a male love interest in the future. I just wonder sometimes why people dont entertain the idea that she could be bisexual. I
dont think that that would be an insult to anyone that is gay, or atleast it shouldnt be.

It would seem obvious; to confront and torture Spike.

And as far as Amber coming back, from what I know, she won't be "Tara." And there shall be no more humping.

Amber is coming back "shortly" as Tara's straight twin sister. Willow will be attracted (obviously) but no sparks fly.

i watched the show tonight and anya and willow were fighting and anya said you've been friends with xander since you were little and you're trying to steal him away ... willow said duh im gay

i just think to say she is bisexual backtracks on so much of what has been on the show ... there hasn't been even a slight hint pf bisexuality since she has come out

It's not exactly like the show has the best track record of keeping it's details correctly. Buffy's been born in 79,80, and 81. Angel, Dru, and Darla have had multiple ages. It started out tha Spike was Dru's sire. Plenty can change.

I have no issue with Will liking snatch.

Though the minute Xander started making the evil love with a construction buddy, I've had it.

OH MY GOD!

I saw this thread pop up and for some reason I thought today was Tuesday. That would mean that for my area the season premeir of Buffy had just ended.

It was like a bad dream.

Yikes. That would sucj, now wouldn't it?

LMAO

Rasta with your Xander and his evil love... and STD with the possibility of missing the show. :p

I was just talking to my friend tonight and he's so damned excited about it. I doubt he'll get a good nights rest tonight. He's across the atlantic so they won't see the episode for a couple weeks I think... somehow he's managed to find a site where he can download it from a canadian poster. They've already seen it tonight in Canada. He's worse than a kid in a candy store with this Buffy thing.

LOL

"It's not about right. Not about wrong. It's about power."

Let's get ready to rumble.

So Buffy the Councellor for troubled children. Interesting. A possibly evil principal, will he be eaten? Like the episode mentioned, Principal Flutie was eaten by the Hyena children, Principal Snyder was eaten by the ascended Mayor Wilkins. What does fate have in store for Principal New Guy?

And Spike. Half mad, tried to cut out his soul, tortured by the visions of Big Bads past...and Buffy. A Buffy. I believe this ties into the not finished thread of last year--Buffy coming back "wrong". First Evil, perhaps? As the master said...back to the beginning.

This is going to be a hella good year....as long as Anya ditches that horrible blouse, I mean c'mon!

When this episode ended, first thing i did was go "What the fuck is that!? hopefully rast pope knows". swear to god. Looks like it'll be a great season...but WHAT the HELL was going on at the end? It fucked me up hardcore!!

Dude, I told you everyone's coming back. Everyone looked great except for Adam--his makeup wasn't quite matching with how it was. A small quibble, though.

And fuckin a, I was right, Dawn DID get hot over the summer.

And poor Slayer-In-Training....she got taken out in like 3 minutes.

I hope that Seth Green comes back as Oz for at least one episode. I don't think he & Willow totally resolved things when he left a few years ago. James Marsters is wonderful as Spike, it was odd hearing him speak without the English accent on the commercials for "Haunted" tonight. I think this year will be very interesting with everyone popping in & out of Sunnydale. Eliza as Faith was a good counterpoint to Buffy & that should be a lot of fun. The only character I didn't really like was Riley-too boring & bland, IMO. I love Anthony Stewart Head, he is totally hot & close to my age:). Going to be a good final season, I think.

slayer in training? what???

Normally, the Watchers Council seeks out potential Slayers through mystical means, and begins their training at as young an age as possible. Like Kendra. Through some internal foul-up, they didn't find Buffy until she's already been activated.

The girl running from the hooded guys in Instanbul is what I suspect to be a SIT.

Riley coming back for that one episode last season was one of the years highlights, though. C'mon, admit it.
