I'm not quite sure why he's giving press conferences in the oval office, I've never before seen a preschooler taking such an active role in politics, but the kid is funny as hell.
I hope he's not sitting in on anything top secret, because he seems to be going through that delightful stage where he repeats things he's overheard with perfect comedy timing.
But, much as I'm enjoying his antics, I have to ask; why is he there?

You know, I was going to unload on you about the children of Nazis being "fair game", but I checked myself.

When I moved to Florida years ago, my next door neighbor was an elderly German widow. When she found out I'd travelled in Germany and could speak a little (very little) German, she decided we were friends. She had an amazing life story. She was the daughter of a Nazi Gauleiter (I think that's equivalent to "regional governor") and grew up during WW2 on a posh estate somewhere in eastern Europe, far from the actual fighting until very late in the war. Father ruled with an iron hand. Her family's estate was tended mostly by a staff of Jewish prisoners (maids, housekeepers, gardeners, drivers, nannies, etc). This was the "norm" for her. Her father died shortly after the end of World War 2 (not sure how...battle/suicide/executed?) and mother died of "a broken heart" (I suspect suicide) shortly afterwards.

This left her technically an orphan, and she was swept up at the age of 10 or so with all the other orphans of Eastern Europe. Because she was privately educated and spoke several languages including English, she was considered a "blue chip" potential adoptee and was subsequently adopted by a wealthy American family. She really never came to terms with her privilege as a Nazi child...publicly anyway. She married and had a single son, who was flamboyantly gay (think: Boy George gay). He was an airline flight attendant. She made an offhand remark once that perhaps that her son's sexuality was God's retribution for her past.

Hadn't thought about her in years....just tried looking her up on social media (and obituary notices) with no luck.
