Thank you for that. I am now curious to see what the next few months have in store. Plus we're down one idiot neighbor.

Thanks Blase.

Thanks Cajun.

I'm almost as happy to be rid of the idiot neighbor.

I realized it was actually close last week when I submitted a new pile to LIT (more coming) but didn't say anything until the goal was met.

Thank you investor and again, all of you. Nice to see we're past 10 pages - but where did all of the new people go? We gained a few and I hope they're still following us.

Maybe reading your many stories.
Which reminds me....you Bondage family looks like one I need to read.

I hope you like it Cajun and please vote.

Speaking of that, it looks to me as if the low-vote trolls are at it again. I have to report it soon to get the rating back to where it should be.

Early AM thoughts :)

Heading to bed in a few. I tried earlier, but was a bit too restless.

I often use that as a reason to "calm down" my brain. As I am now in good stead with my publisher, I found a story I had started a while back, but not finished.

Why I am discussing this is something I also intend to publish on my Tumblr blog. :) It's a subject I may also speak of in the writing class I will be teaching.

I had started this story as part of a series I was writing - but was 50/50 on including it. It had the makings of a good - maybe hot - story.

But I wasn't certain if it "fit" the series. I could have made it fit, tweaked, adjusted and so forth. My thinking was - and I now have come to that conclusion - that it might have changed the focus of the series.

It was also far too good a concept / story to discard. Tweaking it might have also ruined the fun of the story. What to do?

In the end, I decided NOT to include it in the series (and I actually thought of a different chapter for that) but rather, write it so it stands on its own. That would mean some new and different backstory, as the characters in the series were already established.

What's more, as I started the backstory, the characters emerged in a different direction. With the new story, the entire concept stands on its own. I've also breezed through a few thousand words and not even at the beginning of the original story. So I'm getting a piece which has similarities to the other one - which I will acknowledge in the outro.

However, this is like I hit the (metaphorical) fork in the road. One story went left, this one went right. I'm having just as much fun with this as I did with the original series (which is my highest rated to date, I believe) and hope the readers will as well.

Cooler still is the fact this is the FIRST new story for my publisher in 2015. If you're confused, don't be. The stuff I sent them in the past few months was work owed - from 18 months ago.

THIS new piece will earn me money and is the first one under my new agreement. Just got the offer yesterday and I'm already in. Yeah, maybe I'm being a bit self-involved in yakking so much - but losing my writing hurt almost as much as losing "the women". They're gone and never coming back - nothing I can do about that.

But writing? Oh no, a different kettle of (metaphorical again or this place would stink - although the cat would love it, but I digress) fish. I feel like I have reclaimed that part of me.

I hope you all have a fun day. Over the next several months, expect to see my LIT tally go wayyyy up. I for one, could not be more thrilled about that. I hope you are too.

Happy Fall morning to all!! I'm all packed and heading to Charlotte airport soon. BrettJ I continue to celebrate your great news. Everyone have an awesome weekend. I don't think I saw Ling? She is usually the one who opens the Bistro doors. BrettJ I will try and share some Florida pics to your FB.

Hugs to all :)

Hello NRSE, so sorry that I missed you. I did try to sleep, but as expected, a bit too restless. I'm also itchy - that happens sometimes when I can't sleep. We don't know what causes that - a part of my new medical condition, perhaps? It's all over itchy - annoying. Although not as bad as "shingles" - any of you ever had that? It is awful, you almost want to die, it's so agonizing.

So, I tossed and turned and actually came up with another story, so I am up again - for a bit - and will jot it down.

Nope, no sign of LING, here or in her own thread (I posted there as well0

Have fun in Florida - I've sort-of been there, back in your bi-centennial year. When I went to the Bahamas, we flew Canada / Florida / Bahamas. I will look for pics and enjoy them.

Okay, back to work for a smidge.

Hey LING.

Oddly enough, just sent you a long message about a few of the very things you mention here.

Meant to say - sometimes, flavor blends don't work for me. I can drink a chocolate and coffee beverage (prefer it cold if I do) but I don't like "mocha" coffee. Oddly, my favorite blend is French Mocha, but that refers to the region in which it is grown. No cocoa in it.

The cafe I patronize has a Maple Cream coffee that always smells amazing. I've tried it - the Maple was weak and it ruined the taste of the coffee. It just didn't mesh, in my opinion. I like Vanilla - but bleahhh, it RUINS coffee (although I have a French Vanilla "coffee drink" I don't mind - and the French Mint drink is okay too). The ONLY blend of coffee I ever liked was an Orange coffee I was once given - and I have never been able to find a bag of it since.

Ever have a day you just knew was going to be long? This one, I fear ...

PS - Here's a query for some of you? Anyone know a way to find out the most prolific LIT authors? When I went over 500 a while back, I was curious as to where I ranked.

NO cheque LING - I made that abundantly clear. I know you meant that as "pay", but when they used to pay me by cheque (yes Americans, we spell it that way LOL) there were constant screw-ups and outright lies. I insisted on Direct Deposit some years back and not ONCE after that begun did I have a problem. I thought I had - once - but it was my Credit Union's error, not my publisher.

I have written close to 25 thousand words in this past week and that will go up. I need to keep this up, although got to pay attention and not burn myself out and get ill again.

Mostly MM - productive - but damn, still cannot sleep and still itchy! The darned construction (we're getting LRT in 2 years) isn't helping.

Morning to the Bistro.

Will be off the grid for the next two+ weeks on a trip to see relatives and friends. Will check in when wi-fi is available. And with NRSE off as well, the Bistro will need someone to pick up the slack with coffee, chai tea, morning tidbits, and wine when needed. But I'm sure that will be covered by BrettJ, cajun, Rj, T4T and others. :)

May get close enuf to the northern border to give Ling a shout-out, but doubt the voice will carry that far with all those trees in the way.

Ciao.

Man, it seems as if everyone is out and about in the world - save for me.

Have a good trip - I'll likely be here when you get back. If I don't get some SLEEP I actually MAY still be in this exact spot.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. Brettj, I hope you have a good weekend writing, and get a little down time

I hope those on vacation have a good time.

I'm trying to get some down time - essentially, took most of today off to relax. It isn't getting done. I'm having difficulty sleeping - still - and it's been noisy and now, raining. We do need the rain, no question.

Tonight will be simply TV / rest, with writing to return in the wee small hours. Hello to SC and the rest of our patrons (those who aren't having fun in warmer climates than mine)

I hope by the wee small hours we are sleeping soundly for the first time in a while.

Heat wave?

I can relate, ours just ended.

Not much going on right now, enjoying the TV.

The heat just goes on here, but it is better than the cold.

American Horror Story on Netflix is what we are watching.

I'm watching Hawaii 5-0 a show I gave up on years ago because it just got a bit ridiculous. However, it's not unwatchable and I know enough of what's going on to watch an individual episode or two. I used to watch the Jack Lord original
