Well, I am cabbage-less for another month, that much I know. I don't understand why they charge that price and then have so many left over that they get dumped to a local food bank. It seems truly foolish to me.

Local food banks receive the small heads of cabbage. The bigger heads are usually sent to the churches, so they can make cole slaw, soups, and sauerkraut for the less fortunate. My church will be calling my son and I to help out with the making of the 'kraut soon.

Here, I wouldn't be too sure about that, because the times I've had to use the Food Hamper programs, I've gotten a few whoppers. The one where I once volunteered also supplied one of the local "kitchens" with our surplus. Here there is a Central Food Bank (I also volunteered there) that supplies to all the Hamper programs and many other food charities. Then, the other ones have suppliers that give directly to them. The Food Hamper program for who I volunteered does the largest body of work.

Growing up in the midwest, just loved that first cool front that signaled the true start of fall and what we called "football weather"! Loved raking leaves to the curb and setting fire to them (in the days before ecological political correctness came along). A great time of year.

As to outdoor fall activity . . . hard to beat making love in the forest, on a blanket, with chilled white wine adding to the ambiance.

It's almost like fall weather here, but I doubt it will last. Still, it was a nice break.

While I am a fan of summer, Each season has good things about them. The best thing about fall is football. The changing weather and leaves are nice too. There are also plenty of fresh new flavors to go around.

Plenty of outdoor sex for us, including with other people before we were married. Our fist time with each other was in the fall, outside on a blanket, beside a fire.

Not only that, they improved the terms. My deadline is month's end (used to be the 16th) and the payday is a few weeks later. Unless things change drastically, the middle of next month I will have cash again!

I always loved end-of-month deadlines when doing freelance "translating" manuals. It's easier to remember LOL

My former deadline was easy to remember - paid on the 15th, due on the 16th.

Nice thing about this new situation is that I am still technically freelance. I can write as much as I am capable.
