You didn't miss the threads. I'm talking about what is on page 2 of this thread. Here is BotBoy's response to me calling him out for promoting specific weapons he would use to attack a mosque, for advocating that migrants crossing the border into this country be gunned down by military planes, and for telling a polyamorous female that he hoped one of her lovers would beat her to near-death:

Who the fuck cares about splitting hairs over his "intentions" in making these violent statements in the first place. Intentions don't mean shit. Advocating violence to enforce your views is wrong, and his statement above indicates that he feels entitled to promote this sort of violence.

His more recent statement in this thread indicates that what his said is perfectly fine because he did not get banned for it. So what? Shit-posters on Lit also don't always get banned for making overtly racist statements. That's Lit's decision if they want to allow posters to promote violent terrorism or a forum for racism, but it does not make it right.

I was initially quite biased because:

1. like 85 and butters just demonstrated, there's a culture on the GB of harassing specific minority groups (Asians, Jews or non-English speaking immigrants) over all sorts of pretenses (they're racists against Blacks!).
And when They finally lose their marbles and say stupid things: document it to justify even further harassment.

2. Anyone who's anti-illegals is often labelled as "racist" on the GB.
But it has nothing to do with racism, it's just unfair imo: the more illegals in the States, the fewer chances for those from other parts of the world.

I often wondered if such intense emotions over the Ilegals debate are actually about something else: that part of Southern US used to belong to Mexico?

i will: a person can hold entirely non-racist views yet still choose to use racial taunts specifically to attack an individual, understanding it's bait. does it make it right or something condonable? of course not. i'm not speaking about someone reverting to racial epithets in anger, where it's common to retreat mentally to basic beliefs, this is about using it as a tool against an individual for effect even though it doesn't reflect the mentality of the person using it. i'm sure people will argue this, but i can see the difference. do i think it's in any way, shape or form acceptable? of course not.

I think that a person who intends to harm anyone they dislike with racist remarks is indeed a racist. It IS the mentality. It wasn't friendly, it was gross and it seems pretty obvious to me that Rob was having a go.

To say that attacking someone with racist remarks is a tool and has no bearing on their mentality sounds like you're trying to find a loophole to excuse the fact that it is racism. Fail.
