Actually, I have beaten up, read many times copies of both Little Women and Bram Stoker's Dracula.

I'd be happy to discuss others' stories, but since I don't write erotica, I don't have any to share. Sorry.

yeah, that's the problem with that idea. It disincludes others. Plus, who's would we read? I personally would want to make some kind of rule along the lines of only reading people who post here regularily, or something.

There's nothing in there that says you have to be an author to comment. Readers are important to writers!

There are quite a few regulars that have not posted stories...and some of us only have 1 story on Lit, (and no time to write more due to school) and it isn't even BDSM related. It seems we are looking at a fairly small number of stories. But I'll try to participate if it happens (no guarantees though, classes are a bear this semester... why else am I up at 12:30 am in studio? )

That'd work. So we'd need to find out who wants to have their stories reviewed, and then get it going.

And I wasn't thinking that you have to be an author to comment. Everyone would. I'll get a thread for that started later on.

Thinking about it, we wouldn't need to just review stories by those here in Lit. As TNR pointed out, we may be limiting ourselves down quite a bit. There are a large amount of authors that may never come here, or only lurks. We could chose any story out there to review.

Yeah, I guess. It just seems more fair, at first to read stories of people who contribute to discussions. I'm mostly worried that people will put up for their stories to be read and discussed, but not contribute to other people's discussions.

A nurse during WWII, Claire, goes back in time to Scotland. I think the year is around the 1700's, I believe. She meets up with Jamie, a fierce Scot whom she later marries, for her own survival, although she was married in her time. Jaime has some Dom qualities about him also, which makes him very lovable. *wink* It's basically a time-travel romance. I literally could not put the first one down.

She and nurse and he in intelligence. Also, he is researching a long ago ancestor of his that was stationed in the area.

She arrives in 1743, and meets up with Jamie. Yes, he's swoonable, but I have a thing for kilt-wearing men. The spanking scene is just....mmmm....and she's so sore afterwards. Yes, definate Dom tendencies.

I think this is a wonderful idea, I read all the time...I don't write but LH has written some IMHO some very good stories...I myself have just finished one book...The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks was very very good and am now reading A man with a Maid by Anonymous which is a collection of short BDSM stories of the victorian time....very erotic read.

This idea has merit, but I would suggest only if the poster who has wriitten the story is asked first for permission to use and publicly critique their story and writing. Seem to remember we went down the road some months back of picking people from Lit without first consulting them and it did not go down well with all involved.

so we nominate a coordinator person and then anyone who is interested in being read and critiqued can PM them. Like you give the coordinator your name and the story you'd like critiqued, (or just say "pick one, please.") and then the coordinator opens the thread saying "This week we're doing X's story." and there we go. I suppose it'd be helpful if you sent said coordinator a link to the story in question or your member page, just to make life easier for them. Then they can c and p the link into the thread.

Anne sort of volunteered to start the thread earlier, but if she doesn't want to, I'll do the coordinator thing.

And in a further display of on topic-ness.. (Don't die from the shock, people!)

I just finished "Eats, shoots, & Leaves" by Lynn Truss. It's hysterically funny, and it does make you more aware of what you're doing punctuation wise. This isn't just for people who need to brush up; anyone who's a stickler for punctuation should read it. Be prepared though for the weird looks, though; I was sitting around my living room reading and giggling maniacally over a few things. My friend Kait was there. She looked at me and said "What's so damn funny?" I gasped "Apostrophes!" She gave me a really odd look and said "You really need to get out more!"

SPANKING SCENE? Now I know that I'm gonna read it. Have you all read Johanna Lindseys barbarian trilogy? They have orgasm denial in the first one (Warriors Woman), and spanking in the second - I forget it's name. But their's a serious dom story there.
