SPANKING SCENE? Now I know that I'm gonna read it. Have you all read Johanna Lindseys barbarian trilogy? They have orgasm denial in the first one (Warriors Woman), and spanking in the second - I forget it's name. But their's a serious dom story there. :D

Johanna Lindsey has several books with bondage and/or spanking in them...... Prisoner of My Desire and Defy Not the Heart are both medieval romances. Silver Angel is about a girl sold into a harem (there's a pain slut in the harem as well, damn she had to be the villain).

All of those are older books.

Jaid Black (a new author to me) has a new book out called One Dark Night. The heroines is a submissive seeking a Dom online. It's not perfect, but it's a wonderful change from previous depictions of BDSM relationships. Here's the book description from Amazon.....

When Dr. Nikki Adenike's rendezvous with an Internet playmate turns into a life-and-death fling with the serial killer called "Lucifer," she manages to escape--into the arms of the detective investigating the case. But the danger is far from over--and a newfound passion is just beginning.

I have read the book twice in the week since i got it, i think i'm gonna have to hide it or i'll burn myself out on it.

I've noticed that my mother reads Johanna Lindsey's books.

I think I'll have to go thru her stash!

Anyone know of...

A good online BDSM bookstore that accepts paypal?

Thanks in advance

I actually knew of those Johanna Lindsey books, but it's been so long since I read them that I couldn't remember the names of them. I was like 16, I think, so it'd be 10 years since I read them.
Other good authors that have doms are Christine Feehans Dark series, and Jayne Ann Krentz (she also goes by Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle). I believe the pc term is 'alpha male'. Or at least that's what they call them. *shrugs*Oh yeah, and Dara Joy. All of her males are dom's, too. No, wait, not all. Except for Ritual of Proof, which I bet Domme's would love.
It's about a different world, called Forus. It's a very Regency style book, except for one big issue, the women are dominant. The men are kept at home, raising the children, and taking care of the house. It's a pretty good book, just not my favorite of hers.

I read those Johanna Lindsay Warrior books in high school, I believe. I own Silver Angel, and LOVE it. Also got that one in high school.

Another set of books that I love are the Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop.

For those into Johanna Lindsey, you might also love Rosemary Rodgers, in particular the trilogy Sweet, Savage Love; Dark Fires; and Lost Love, Last Love. You will get plenty of history along with brute force/machoism, damsel in distress (but gutsy and rebellious), kidnap, forced prostitution, and spanking from what I recall, passion, jealousy,....oh and tying up, though I don't really identify it as bondage unless it is done for erotic purposes or in a clearly defined BDSM scene like situation. Used to read both authors in my younger days, but found RR came out a touch ahead and had earned her reputation as groundbreaking in her day by not stopping at the bedroom door...instead going into graphic descriptions which were erotic, and rarely in the bedroom. Another one which I have mentioned before and is modern day and more in keeping with erotic bondage etc., and a thinly disguised theme of D/s (IMHO) and set partly in Egypt with female sexual service etc., is Three Rivers by Roberta Latow.

You're not going to find a good online BDSM bookstore that accepts paypal anymore. As of Sept 23 (i think is the exact date) Paypal is freezing accounts of anyone who buys or sells material intended for "mature audiences".

I found out about it because one of the new authors i've been glomming has some books out as e-books that aren't available in print. They're considered "romantica' (a cross between romance and erotica) and none of the sites accept paypal anymore because they fall under the mature audiences clause.

Here's a copy and paste from the Paypal user guidelines.......

General Policy

PayPal may not be used to send or receive payments for any adult, sexually oriented, or obscene materials or services. This includes, but is not limited to:
Any material or services suggesting sexual activity
Any material or services designed to sexually arouse the viewer or reader
Non-adult services whose web site marketing can be reasonably misconstrued as allowing adult material or services to be purchased using PayPal (e.g., a web hosting service that markets its services by displaying sexually explicit graphics and the PayPal button on its home page)

Examples of Prohibited Material

Any material clearly designed to sexually arouse the viewer/reader (e.g., books, text, photos, videos, X-rated movies, "hentai" cartoons, pornographic materials, etc.)
Any materials which require individuals to be eighteen (18) or older to view or purchase those materials.
Any item sold through eBay's Mature Category.
Any representation of human genitals presented in such a manner as to suggest sexual activity.
Any items which display sexual activity or portray human genitalia in a "life-like" or realistic fashion.
Any representation of any form of sexual intercourse involving humans.
Any items which, because of their nature or because of the item description, appear to be designed for use in sexual activity (e.g., bondage).
Any items which depict human sexual characteristics in a degrading fashion (e.g., bestiality).
Any item that portrays "full" frontal nudity (excluding acceptable artwork as defined below).

Examples of Prohibited Services/Sites

Escort services.
Adult web sites.
Child model sites.
Phone sex or audio services.
Hidden camera sites containing adult/ sexual activity.
Information sites or directories that provide links to adult sites or escort services.
Suspicious sites that refuse to cooperate with PayPal (e.g., not providing PayPal a guest password to access the site).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Acceptable Materials/Sites

Nudist sites/ events (provided children are not involved).
Adult sexual medical items (e.g., condoms).
Small and insignificant parts of a catalog, book, periodical, or other work which is not, as a whole, primarily devoted to sexual matters.
Nudity can be acceptable so long as the material is not considered "adult" (as defined in the prohibited section) and fits into one of the categories below.

Media
Nudity is permitted to the extent it constitutes a small and insignificant part of a catalog, book, periodical, or other work which is not, as a whole, primarily devoted to sexual matters. Movies containing some nudity that may be viewed by individuals age 17 (PG, PG-13, and R) can be sold. Pre-1980 Playboy, Playgirl, and Penthouse magazines are also allowed.

Artwork
Fine art such as certain paintings, carvings, figurines and other similar materials are permitted. Examples include Michelangelo's David, a Renaissance-style painting of a nude female, or nude cherubs in the form of human infants (in the style of Raphael). Drawings or artistic photos that are not primarily designed to sexually arouse the viewer are also acceptable.

Risqué Postcards and Pin Up Art: While persons portrayed in postcards and pinups may be topless, scantily clothed, or in mildly suggestive poses, any postcards or pinups sold using PayPal should not depict male or female genitalia (frontal nudity below the waist) or strong sexual content. In addition, these items should be published prior to 1940, and the description of the item should include the approximate year of publication.

Risqué Gag Gifts & Novelties
Such items may include various types of toys, collectibles, or food items in the shape of genitalia primarily intended for adult buyers. Examples include soaps, certain food items (such as pasta or candy) and key chains.
