Block a Forum

What is a usage example?
You need to add a userscript extension to your browser. GreaseMonkey and TamperMonkey are the most common ones.
Then add a new script and paste the code into the editor. Change the forumsToBlock value to match what you want to block and save.
Then go to the new posts page and those items should be gone.

@Mandlovu - Thank you for posting a solution but I don’t think it will work on my iPhone. I do use Google on my iPhone but it isn’t the same as Firefox on my laptop 🤷‍♀️

I'm not a sports guy. When I read my news sites I skip past sports. this is easy because sports articles are in a section that I can scroll past.If I found articles listed in clock time I'd find a different source. Same here. Fine, have a politics forum but let me get past all of the posts rather than have them clutter up the Whats new.

There is no way I'm going to do anything with scripts and codes. I am challenged enough to add bold typeface.

At first I thought, dear lord why can't the OP control themselves? Then I read this entire thread. Then I thought about it. Regardless of whatever condition (their word) the OP has that makes them touch the stove when they know it's hot (I love that analogy), I've decided I'd like to have this feature available. I'd block the Personals and Politics at a minimum. Not because they trigger me, but because I DO use the What's New feature, and garbage from those Forums clutter it up. For those of you who don't use What's New, I've attached a screen capture of the feed from my laptop. The Playground is part of the Personals Forum.

You read the entire thread and then you worded your post like that? The primary complaint is that people want to use the “What’s New” feature, but some of the most active forums (like the Political Board) fill the feed. Sure, there’s conjecture and other discussion (as there is in nearly every thread on Lit), but it’s literally the primary reason for the ask.
