Which view point do you most ascribe to and why?

Me, myself I prefere black and white.

Clearly defined guidelines of right and wrong, good and bad, even holy evil.

Clearly defined guidelines give definition to life.

To me, personally, living with grey/gray is a means of religating{sp} responsibility away from ourselves. To me it strikes a means of living guilt free for my actions. To me it says nothing is really wrong cause I can merely change, move, redfine waht right and wrong is.

Again, which view point do you ascribe to and why?

I'll even let this be a grey/gray question by stating there are no right and wrong answers.

grey...just because I said so. And my skin color is far to fair to do the black and white thing. It just completely washes me out.

You rock, thank you *muah*

Bright.

Not black, not white, not grey. Only bright, preferably yellow.

Me too, Todd

I have a very strong sense of right and wrong, to a fault. It's the pragmatist in me (and sometimes the masochist).

Is having a solid sense or right and wrong really a fault?

Nope. We need more people with a true sense of right and wrong.

I try to see things black and white, but invariably the rose tinges blur the edges.

I have a solid sense of right and wrong. But I don't think what I believe is right and wrong applies to everyone or even anyone else. Wonder what that says about me. Bet it says I'm a masochist doesn't it?

IF you push your views onto everyone else without listening to their views.

Personally, I see every colour in the rainbow and more between black and white.

Thats what I am trying to find out which is more predominant. So far the usually poster who tell me to stop seeing things in black and white haven't posted yet so we await to get a more fair over view.

I like Black and White because it gives me the security of knowing the right from wrong, but I realize that in the real world, gray is the common color. My reasoning is that I am fully aware that it is only by the grace of God that I am not in a different situation. I see people who are seriously fucked up and I know that I could have easily taken (or ran joyfully) down any of the paths they have led.

Todd

I don't want it to sound like I can recognize right or wrong better than anyone else. Just that I react more than most.

Hey Todd,

Have you taken the spiritual gifts test? I bet you have, and I bet that you scored very high on the prophet category, didn't you?

i didn't mean it to sound that way either, sorry for misrepresenting you. Its the reaction that I am talking about.

For example of a view point:

John doe is a poor beggar person on the street. He walks down the avenue. the grocery has a display of apples 1000's of apples. in two days they will be going in the garbage because they are getting a bit over ripe. John takes one and runs cause he can't pay for it.

Black and white says he did wrong. He could of gone to the grocer and tried to work for some food etc.

Grey/gray says well the grocer makes lots of profit on the apples he sold anyways and beside they were going to be thrown out to boot. and the beggar could have just waitied and gotten all he wanted from the dumpster

Just a thought

Another 1,000 Lit points to Brat for this.

(Alright, I already said I was wierdness tonight, but that was a damn fine answer)

Todd, i see things in black and white with a gray area in the middle. most of the time the gray things are neither agaist god nor man but a matter of local social acceptance, or just the people you hang with.

I'll even let this be a grey/gray question by stating there are no right and wrong answers.

As a Billy Joel song is entitled, "Shades of Grey" is my outlook on a lot of things. That said, I do believe there are certain things that are right and wrong, but something must be looked at as to the why and how and the overall situation. I was told by one of my old professors that I have very poor ethics, which she then proved to me as I failed her practical ethics quiz. Mind you, I was able to justify everything and even forced her to recondier the answers on the test, and that's because somethings are grey, not everything is black or white.

Both, I guess.

I have a very strong sense of what I believe to be "right" and "wrong". However, I'm also aware that there are others on this planet who feel just as strongly as I do about their beliefs. Though in my heart I believe that I am more right than they are, I'm not egotistical enough to think that my sense of morality is the end-all be-all of morality. One of the things I believe in very strongly is kindness, compassion, and understanding. If I were to shun or vilify those whose beliefs do not coincide with mine, I would be a hypocrite. Thus, I live my life and I try to have the good grace to allow them to live theirs.
