Happy Monday to my fellow Politics members!

I just watched Brandon say this today:

"Imagine had the tobacco industry been immune to prostitute being sued"?

Title 42 should have been a day 1 EO, its like he Biden really wants the right to like him.

Why so racist?
All immigration has a depressing effect on wages, and an inflationary effect on prices, especially the price of a place to live.

We do not need races characterized by crime, illegitimacy, and low intelligence.

Native Americans agree with you .

Well while that's at best half true. They DO cause a depressing effect on wages, but the amount of money you would have to pay Americans to do most of the jobs immigrants do would cause so much more inflation its not even funny.

While I don't like you, you are generally knowledgable. So explain to me why this two pronged approach wouldn't be both more effective, less expensive and in real terms less racist.

1. Streamline legal entry into and out of the country. I'm not talking about citizenship or even permanent residence. You get your seasonal work to pick crops, or unload ships and trucks during high volume periods and then go back home and get granted front of the line status. I don't know the COL in Texas but I know what it is in California. We also know that immigrants (legal and non) from south of the border send every penny they can afford back home. It doesn't make sense for them to stay in the US if they don't have to. Our system however is so complex that once they get in there is a disincentive to leave. Though depending on what study you choose between 40 and 60 percent come here legally and overstay their Visas.

This would have the added benefit of being able to focus more energy on the criminal element that is coming in. Not as much as ending the war on drugs but hey, I'll take a win.

2. Direct resources towards finding the employers who are using illegal immigrants. As I recall hiring illegals is a felony, and working without permission is a misdemeanor. Maybe I have a priority problem of thinking felony>misdemeanor. More importantly (insert large businesses here) how quickly do you think they would get their shit together if the people in power started going to prison? Of course the rich rarely face consequences and admittedly much of it a lot of us don't care. Will Smith getting charged with assault would have been absurd even if this had been in a bar. That wouldn't gain any political points. Do you think Greg Abbot would lose more money from rich donors than he gained in good favor from both sides of the aisle if he could point to "We're tough on the people robbing you blind!"?

Before anybody brings this part up, yes it would primarily affect white people, but that's not really my fault, that where the power in this country is focused.

I agree with you that the emphasis should be on punishing employers who hire illegal immigrants and land lords who rent to them. The Republican Donor Class opposes that because big contributors are usually employers and landlords. The Republican Party is in a bind on immigration: most Republican voters want fewer immigrants; most big donors want more immigrants.

Just curious, your opinion on streamlining legal entry and that Cost of Living alone would encourage many of them to return home if they could be confident they could get back in next year?

No. I have read that most illegal immigrants had visas, and stayed when the visas expired.

40-60% depending on whom you ask. However I believe that they overstay because its too difficult to get back in legally.
