Yeah, nothing more fun than being in the hospital with a heart attack or something, finally sleeping decently for the first time in days, and they come in and wake you up to give you a fucking sleep aid pill!

Well, since it seems to be a hot topic I have to explain it like this. I'm taking Lactulose about 4x/day to lower the blood ammonia levels which were around 163 when I came in. Normal is around 12 or so I think. Another use of lactulose is as a laxative. It puts ex-lax to shame. I am essentially in a medically induced state of diarrhea therefore the bowels are in constant movement. I don't go more than a two hour limit at best before I have to go and punish the toilet. After dinner, which I've just had it'll be lively for a while then I'll just run empty. I can sleep uninterrupted or could if they would leave me alone during the night given the circumstances.

I hope this resolves the poo question.

You asked the question that immediately popped into my head....

Not a question to which *I* needed to know the answer.

I'm like Barbara Walters - I ask the difficult questions, and I get the real answers.

Does your nurse know how much you've been going? If you're uncomfortable she/he can most likely give you something.

Heller might have written this.

A fresh pic of the view from the window at the end of the hall. I was out taking a bit of a stroll and whipped out the cell phone and snapped it.

Wow... Why are none of the trees on the hills? And where's the grass and mountains and people and stuff?

It's soooo flat and not green that I would probably go crazy. However, I live in the land of kudzu, wisteria, privet, honeysuckle, etc. that goes crazy and covers other plants and any land that isn't tended. The mountains in the background do look cool. I definitely want to visit the desert again one day.

Best of luck, hon. I would've written sooner, but this is the first I've been on here in a good while. Saw your photo, you're looking great! :) Get well soon.

It is now day 13 of my captivity. I awoke at 5am to the horror of a vile harpy shoving needles into a vein and bleeding me. Soon thereafter another one assaulted me with a torture device that was strapped around my arm and then blown up until it felt as if my arm would pop off. Yet again a short while later one came in with a cup full of pills and made me swallow them.

I suspect that they are trying to poison me and at the same time deprive me of rest. In retaliation my faeries have added pixie dust to their coffee supplies so that all of the coffee drinking harpies will develop an itch.

I hope you had an escape route plan built into your tattoo :) Any idea how long you have to be in for?

I've heard that I could be out on Wednesday but that I may have to keep coming back as an outpatient to get this anti-fungal intravenous stuff for up to three weeks depending on which strain of the candida I have. If it's a resistant strain then 3 more weeks of this stuff. :(

I'm hoping for a weak strain.

Antenna's still up, aimed and beaming.

Get well, man. The subbies, the faeries, the hammies and Deathwish all need you.

Supposedly I'm going to get to go home today. Just waiting on the last doc to sign off on it to do his rounds.

Good for you hon! So whats the plan for when you get there, apart from being able to wear clothes that aren't backless?

awesome!!

Glad to hear the good news, but I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. :)
