Bernie!

I hope I'm wrong but I still can't see the Super Delegates REALLY being the difference

We'll see.

I think unless Sanders fucking slaughters, they are going to cram her down our throat.

And tbh if it comes down to that I'll go vote (R) just on principal.

I'm not that principled. But I still don't think America is ready for Bernie. But Trump is proving me to be a goddamn idiot.

I'm gonna go hang out on Earth-2 for a while. Bitch slap Barry Allen for saving his mother or whatever retarded shit caused this.

It doesn't really matter because I live in CA and that means (D) gets my vote regardless.....meh who am I kidding I'm not voting. I have more productive shit to do like jerking off and Civ5 games I need to finish.

I think they are, I don't think (D) will allow it though. He's gonna need 60+% of the popular vote to force the supers off H(R)C's tit.

Make no mistake. Because of the SCOTUS nomination, this election is of monumental importance. If you believe in progressive ideals and allow for a republican to be nominated, it's a bigger loss than a single presidency.

Supremes aren't limited to 2 terms. And if a flippant, defeatist approach to this election allows your conscience to either not vote or vote republican, you're making your own fucking bed. You could see 2 or 3 decades of a governmental body, every bit as powerful as the president, turned against your interests because you were petty and sad.

This is about more than you. This is about women's rights and campaign finance. This is about the plight of minorities, both racially and sexually. This election carries enormous weight. And to pout because you can't have it all is childish. Grow up and understand what's at stake. If you don't care, that's one thing. But if you care and stop playing a part because things aren't exactly how you wanted them to be, fuck you.

Bot is right though. Has CA gone red since Reagan? And he was one of us so yeah. My vote truly doesn't matter one way or the other.

Also in reality the SCOTUS is not as powerful as the President nor Congress but still. Things are NOT the way I want them. I wish my vote at that level wasn't functionally useless. I'm just literally in a spot where it makes no difference and until THAT changes either because my state goes purple or we change how presidential elections are done my motivation to show up is pretty low.

Basically I go so I can get a sticker and gloat over people who can't be bothered in the process.

Remove the OPEN FOR BUSINESS sign off your ass and salute the flag.

Currently, I'd argue that SCOTUS is more powerful than either the president or congress 1) because its affects change immediately and 2) it is less affected by (although not completely) lobbying efforts and partisanship. LGBT rights and voter rights are being decided without waiting for the legislative process. Gerrymandering has been addressed and overturned in some jurisdictions without its ill-effects tainting the process. Add a flipped vote to that...and citizens United, hobby lobby, and maybe even Casey could see revising or reversal. That's the kind of thing that simply can't get done with an obsteuctionist legislative system.

Secondly, im from fucking Tennessee. When I told the old women I needed a democratic ballot, every wrinkly face also voting early looked at me in disgust. I know what it is to vote for losers. But the margins matter. Moreover, the principle matters. Steam dissipates quickly and ends campaigns. The stubborn old-folk who who comprise 2/3 of the electorate don't do it because their vote matters. They do it because they're unwavering assholes who think allowing kids to elect a president is a problem. The other 1/3 mitigate themselves to the stereotype and simply don't vote because they think it won't matter...when, in reality, if they turned out in numbers similar to the decrepit, progressives would be elected nearly unanimously. Even in Tennessee. Even in California. Even wherever you're from.

Respect for SCOTUS is a recent development. Thru the 19th Century they were generally ignored by Presidents and Congress. They have zero force to make government do shit.

I don't know what force you're looking for. They don't have guns. But everything the Supreme Court has ordered has been carried out by the government, from allowing 2 dudes to spoon in peace to giving Bush Jr. The whitehouse.

I wonder about that premise, after seeing how often they have travel and "amenities" paid for by people and companies, including those who have had or may have cases go before SCOTUS, which kinda came out more as a result of Scalia's death.
Looks like they aren't much different from congress in that respect.

Yeah but they have no actual ability to act, only react to things. That alone severely limits them. And the Republicans are effectively making a case right now that at any point if Congress gets fed up of the SCOTUS they can simply eliminate it.

Margins don't really matter, especially in certain states. And again, I'm from California. I don't think the country is progressive even if the numbers DID show up but California is consistently blue and has been most of my life. That's just how we roll.

Yeah, I never got the "activist" judges claim.
And yes, based on the current republican logic, they can eliminate the court via attrition. Or get Pat Robertson to pray away more of them.

Yes it does.

It's not childish at all it's rational, if you understand how elections work in this country.

I know exactly what is at stake, my economic livelihood, medical treatment and potential future fortune are very much on the line. (R) wants to and promised to put me and like 3/4 of California in a federal prison. Sanders wants to make me a millionaire and Clinton/Trump just want to suck Wall St. off some more and ignore me.

That's how serious this shit is for me.

That doesn't change the fact that our political process is so broken that more than likely my political voice will be completely nullified and pointless.

I live in CA....so as far as POTUS is concerned (D) is getting my vote no matter what. I already have zero voice in the general election because I live in CA, (D) wins by a fucking landslide.

So my only real vote is in the primary. Clinton or Sanders and right now the super delegates are almost all standing with Clinton. If sanders does as well on super Tuesday has he has been and that doesn't change then clearly (D) is not interested in democracy or the common man they allegedly support. They will be shoving H(R)C down our throats and we will have to eat it.

And once again that leaves me with my vote nullified and rendered totally void by the elites.

Should that particular chain of events happen, and they could happen, what is the point in me spending the day to go vote? Why should I burn a day going to vote? I might as well be voting for Barney the big purple fuckin' dinosaur.

So unless it's a rather close Sanders v Clinton run on super Tuesday I'm pretty much wasting my fuckin' time driving all the way to town so I can stand in line and vote for someone who's already lost bigger than shit.

My BIGGEST political voice and vote is the money I sent to Sanders.

I live in CA too and my Medicare, partly as the result of Obamacare, is more expensive and less comprehensive than it was seven years ago. I can try to vote to change that, not so much in a presidential vote, but when I vote for or against Congress people. Additionally, I can and will vote on ballot measures. There will probably be one on legalizing MJ in Nov.

At least you get to have yours.

I'm just trying to get you and your team to stop trying to put me in prison for mine.

See I can't even do congress critters, I live on the north coast where it's so dark cobalt blue I don't really have any other choice in the matter. The only real election in this zip code is Sanders v HRC. Which I'm guessing will hugely favor Sanders losing to LA/SF's vote for HRC.

They had better get a new one written up then because the one they have been trying for that puts the industry into 5 peoples pockets is fuckin' dead. It's only got like 5 votes.

That's why it really sucks that democrats caved to the republicans on universal health care and let them turn it in to what is is today.

It is about the Public Policy!

Sanders Opposes Bill to Block GMO Labeling
Wednesday, February 24, 2016

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 – Sen. Bernie Sanders issued the following statement ahead of the Senate agriculture committee’s hearing on legislation introduced by Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) that would block Vermont and other states from requiring labels on genetically modified foods:

“All over this country, people are becoming more conscious about the food they eat and the food they serve their kids. When parents go to the store and purchase food for their children, they have a right to know what they are feeding them.

“The overwhelming majority of Americans favor GMO labeling. We cannot allow the interests of Monsanto and other multi-national food industry corporations to prevail.

“I am very proud that Vermont took the lead nationally to make sure people know what is in the food they eat. Vermont and other states must be allowed to label GMOs.”

My vote has been case for Bernie. I am on the road for work on Super Tuesday so pulled an absentee ballot.

Best vote I have cast since Clinton in 1992.
