Make no mistake. Because of the SCOTUS nomination, this election is of monumental importance. If you believe in progressive ideals and allow for a republican to be nominated, it's a bigger loss than a single presidency.

Supremes aren't limited to 2 terms. And if a flippant, defeatist approach to this election allows your conscience to either not vote or vote republican, you're making your own fucking bed. You could see 2 or 3 decades of a governmental body, every bit as powerful as the president, turned against your interests because you were petty and sad.

This is about more than you. This is about women's rights and campaign finance. This is about the plight of minorities, both racially and sexually. This election carries enormous weight. And to pout because you can't have it all is childish. Grow up and understand what's at stake. If you don't care, that's one thing. LGBT rights and voter rights are being decided without waiting for the legislative process. Gerrymandering has been addressed and overturned in some jurisdictions without its ill-effects tainting the process. Add a flipped vote to that...and citizens United, hobby lobby, and maybe even Casey could see revising or reversal. That's the kind of thing that simply can't get done with an obsteuctionist legislative system.

They do it because they're unwavering assholes who think allowing kids to elect a president is a problem. (R) wants to and promised to put me and like 3/4 of California in a federal prison. Sanders wants to make me a millionaire and Clinton/Trump just want to suck Wall St. off some more and ignore me.

That doesn't change the fact that our political process is so broken that more than likely my political voice will be completely nullified and pointless.

I live in CA....so as far as POTUS is concerned (D) is getting my vote no matter what. I already have zero voice in the general election because I live in CA, (D) wins by a fucking landslide.

So my only real vote is in the primary. Clinton or Sanders and right now the super delegates are almost all standing with Clinton. If sanders does as well on super Tuesday has he has been and that doesn't change then clearly (D) is not interested in democracy or the common man they allegedly support. They will be shoving H(R)C down our throats and we will have to eat it.

And once again that leaves me with my vote nullified and rendered totally void by the elites.

Should that particular chain of events happen, and they could happen, what is the point in me spending the day to go vote? Why should I burn a day going to vote? I might as well be voting for Barney the big purple fuckin' dinosaur.

So unless it's a rather close Sanders v Clinton run on super Tuesday I'm pretty much wasting my fuckin' time driving all the way to town so I can stand in line and vote for someone who's already lost bigger than shit.

I can try to vote to change that, not so much in a presidential vote, but when I vote for or against Congress people. Additionally, I can and will vote on ballot measures. There will probably be one on legalizing MJ in Nov.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 – Sen. Bernie Sanders issued the following statement ahead of the Senate agriculture committee’s hearing on legislation introduced by Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) that would block Vermont and other states from requiring labels on genetically modified foods:

“All over this country, people are becoming more conscious about the food they eat and the food they serve their kids. When parents go to the store and purchase food for their children, they have a right to know what they are feeding them.

“The overwhelming majority of Americans favor GMO labeling. We cannot allow the interests of Monsanto and other multi-national food industry corporations to prevail.

“I am very proud that Vermont took the lead nationally to make sure people know what is in the food they eat. Vermont and other states must be allowed to label GMOs.”
