but I do have interests other than woman and cars.

Here's one.

Very nice pic. Reminds me of The Nexxus that was shown in Star Trek: Generations. Only not as glorified with special FX. Still, it's nice.

A man after my own heart.

Galaxies that look like ESO 510-G13 are very rare in the nearby universe. ESO 510-G13 contains a large spheroidal bulge surrounded by a severely warped disk. Galaxies with disks and bulges are not unusual in the universe, nor are the warps seen in ESO 510-G13. What makes ESO 510-G13 unique is that it's disk has an obvious strong warp that is the result of a galaxy interaction. ("Galaxy interaction" is the way astronomers say one galaxy crashed into another. It was a train wreck of galactic proportions, literally.)

The other interest you showed us......are you planning on taking over the galaxy? (just joking)

mig, we never doubted for one second those were the only two activities that gave you pleasure in your life. There's more to all of us than we could possibly share with each other on this Board. The fun part is trying to bring it forth with posting.

;)

Fascinating stuff. And I thought this was just a sex site. Boy, do I love being proved wrong!

Taking over the Galaxy.

No.
Why should I want another one?.

My home Galaxy is quite enough.

Very cool, but now I have the theme song from The Greatest American Hero in my head because of the title of your thread:

Believe it or not, I'm walking on air
I never thought I could feel so free-ee-ee
Flying away, on a wing and a prayer
Who could it be?
Believe it or not, it's just me...

Wow……….. that’s unbelievable. That’s an actual Hubble photo of a galaxy? Truly awwwwwwwwesome.

…….. I’m stunned. Awe inspiring to say the least.

It had to be Hubble.

My 6 incher isn't powerful enough to do that kind of job.;)

I have an interest in astronomy too. Not so much the technical side of it as I just like looking through telescopes as far away places. Someday I would like to have a place in eastern Washington away from city lights, with a fairly large amateur telescope inside one of those really small domes. Spending clear summer nights watching the stars should be fun.

Oh! yes.

Great minds do think alike.

Actually Patrick Moore, the astronomer, lives just along the coast
from me.If he can manage I'm sure I can.

Still a light free situation would be wonderful.

Very nice pic! Thanks for sharing it! BTW, I have no interests other than men, the rest are just annoyances of life and not interests.

Be positive.

Just think of it.

A starlit night,a quiet glade and my 6 incher.

HOME!

Imagine! A "warped" galaxy.

I would be right at home.

Forty years old and I can still sit in a chaise lounge til the wee hours of morning staring at the sky.

Sorta shoots the "world is only 6,000 years old" idea to hell.

Mankind isn't a blink of God's eye yet..and if we aren't careful we never will be.

For all you peepers....

Thought you might like this site, if you haven't seen it already...

I can spend hours going through the archived days here! Hope you enjoy :)
