I would like to jump in the car, no luggage no provisions, and drive. Drive in a direction I have never gone, explore all the little towns and cities that I come into contact with and end up where ever I do. It would be really amazing to be able to just... go.

Anyone ever do this? Or do you always have a destination and an itinerary?

Has been a wile since I've done it. But it was always so much fun. Point my ass in a direction and hope my mind follows.

Aren't you gonna stink from the lack of change underwear?

What a stupid question. Part of the allure is buying on the road. Besides, I always have a change in my go bag. *shrugs* go bag is in my car and always ready for anything.

EXACTLY!

Mysterious destinations can lead to some really fun times!

Really? YOU too??? You people do not know me or my ocd's very well. Try harder!!! Have fun!!!

No you don't know me and my ocd's well.:D I have a thing about stinky underwear. I probably have 3 times the normal amount and change them more frequently than needed. (I know TMI)

This actually does sound really fun, but my problem would be making myself go back home!!!

Underwear? Us women don't wear underwear.

When we were younger with one, then two children, we'd take a short drive maybe to the park or down to the river. My husband would end up a hundred miles away with no baby food or changes of clothes.
I learned quickly when he said "let's run to the store for some beer" I'd better be ready for an all day trip. There was always a diaper bag in the car.
Looking back, those were some great times. Even after we retired we'd do the same. Only now no kids or diapers. While we lived on the Gulf side of Florida we might end up in Jacksonville, Daytona, or Orlando and stay several nights.
It may sound silly, but just do it. No matter where you live or which direction you go just go. We'd pack a small tent and basic camping gear and just head any direction. I don't drive and still don't know which way Chicago is. My hubby would say point the way and tell me when to turn. We'd end up in a State park miles away or parked by some little creek. It didn't matter, we'd camp wherever we were for a night or two.

I'm taking a long labor day weekday. I need a bit of a break. I don't think I'm going to do anything really, but I intend to relax. If anything maybe take a small day trip.

Used to do it quite often with no destination in mind. Always had provisions though.

I have my plastic... good excuse to buy stuff!

Did you kinda feel like the guy in the middle below when you said that?

Um, no. I cannot say I have ever felt like a man.

ummm... I wear underthings and try to make sure they match. I like to know that underneath my clothes there is a matching bra and panties, so feminine in nature that I feel like a lady no matter what I am wearing over them.

Day trips can have a go where ever you wind up theme too!

^ Thinks about unlaundered women's underwear.

LOL I bet there is a fetish for that... didn't they market that in Orange is the New Black?

I don't know what a lady feels like. I've always been sort of a slut and that feels good.

Years ago no one had credit cards. When we ran out of money we came home. I can remember living off fish from a river, corn, melons, and tomatos borrowed from a field.

jezzie - if you have the opportunity, no ties to hold you back, and plastic/cash in your bag then GRAB that opportunity and ride it hard! who knows where you'll go or what you'll enjoy on the way. you work so damned hard, this would be a fantastic way to break out. :rose:

Yeah, it's time for another long drive. We did a three-month-trip not long ago but aborted when eye infections nearly blinded me. Two surgeries in two weeks later and I'm ready to go again. Gotta wait another couple weeks for a medical checkoff, then we'll re-load the little housecar (25-foot class-C on Sprinter platform, 90 inches wide, 3.0L turbodiesel engine, 17-20 mpg, a dream) and roll for another 6-8 weeks.

The last drive was almost to the east coast. We'll go further next year. The upcoming run will be Oregon-Idaho-Washington-etc. Take it easy. Camp under the myrtlewood trees. Enjoy legal toking. Play our 'ukuleles. Try to ignore impending wars, tsunamis, fuel price hikes, banana shortages, etc. But we won't dive for abalone.
