All kinds of interest, but we really should think of our hosts when we make remarks like the one about starting a whole new forum. I'm pretty sure keeping this Socratic Monkey-House (I mean that in a good way) we call the Forums up and running is a full-time, non-payed job. Yes, it would be nice. Heck, I'd even like to see it. But I don't have the time or the expertise to make it happen myself. Hecate's site (Which I haven't seen) might make an alternative home for more specialized business, I don't know.

Months ago, before the first post to this thread, i tried to interest Laurel and Manu in the creation of a new forum devoted specifically to issues of alternative sexuality.
They were uninterested to the point that they never answered any of my queries. Hence this thread came into being.
I don't think anything has changed.
I find it of ongoing interest that this one thread has had more reads/posts than - for example - the threads/posts to the Editor's Forum in the same amount of time. The same is true of the Story Discussion forum.
I'm still of the opinion that Lit could do nothing but benefit from a lively and well-managed forum devoted exclusively to isssues of alternative sexualities. It's not my opinion that matters in this, though, as is obvious.

Hood making ideas
I have never made a hood, but the idea intrigues me. The following was from me (except for the original inquiry) concerning my inexperienced ideas.
If anyone can use them or give me some input, I'd appreciate it.

I am sure others here have some ideas but just haven't gotten to respond yet. Here are my random thoughts.
I am wondering if any Renaissance type patterns out would be of help. Or perhaps a leather cap that has the ear flaps could be modified. Experimenting with various materials would be lots of fun too--and likely save lots of time when you are using the real leather. Some terry perhaps, or flannel, or denim. What about some of the pseudo-stuff--moleskin, perhaps. What about plastic from a nifty shower curtain? Or heavy lace?
What about getting a halloween mask that is used or on clearance (if any are still around) and using that to make a pattern? Some really encase the head. Or...in the sewing section, there are bound to be some variations on hoods that could be created--maybe a Batgirl costume would be of benefit.
Depending on the wearer, some humiliation could be added by putting on various ornaments or embroidery. I am sure a "fitting title" would be very much appreciated by all the observers at a nice play party.
What about some of the adhesives for gluing a proto-type together instead of sewing? Getting one of those spooky wig-heads would be handy in making sure the fit would be accurate. Good luck.

After sending the previous e-mail, I had a visual in mind that some of you might appreciate.
Picture a sub. (My preference would be male, therefore, I will use masculine pronouns.)
Sub-man is on display in the corner of a very busy room at a play party. He has on a pale blue denim hood that zips up the back, lined with satin or silk.. Across the upper back of his head is embroidered "SISSY". All over the rest of the hood in a random pattern in small letters is the word "Barbie".
On a necklace, he is wearing a Barbie charm of some sort. Suspended from some nipple clamps is a pair of similar charms. Suspended from a very nasty cockring is a short chain with a Babire charm. Around his ankle and on his wrist is accompanying jewelry. Heck, you could throw in some sewn-on-to-the-hood-earrings if you wanted to really rub it in. He he.
(This could also be done in public by putting a short skirt on him and having a long chain suspending the charm from his cockring so that it hangs below the hem of the skirt. Putting a stamp pad and a Barbie stamper or some watercolors next to him to allow others to participate in his humiliation could be the height of entertainment for all!)
(I also thought Smiley-face theme would be excellent. Especially with a yellow ball gag with a most-obvious smiley face beaming at all onlookers and a JackBall hanging from his cock.)

I have another idea for making a pattern...it may or may not work, but it could be worth a try.
Just like making your own duct tape body double, you could make your own head-double.
Put a pair of panty hose over the head and then use small skinny strips of duct tape to cover the head. You could form the perfect shapes for the eyes, nose, and mouth. When you have it secure enough, you could carefully slice it up the sides or up the middle of the face (trauma shears here) and then get it off. You could then cut it into 4 pieces (Similar to a baseball cap) and then have your base pattern. Add your seam allowance and voila.
This would also allow you to have a custom fit and to take it as far down the neck as you want.
Heck, if you are really creative, you could probably make one OUT of the duct tape. Put down a layer, put a zipper down in the appropriate place, tape again going over and over the areas that need it and down the sides of the zipper-fabric to anchor it. Heck, when you were done, you could paint it or whatever else strikes your fancy. Very personal and economical.

Hey--another quick idea. The hoods that the guys use for warmth while hunting in winter could be a good jumping point too. I am not sure if they are sold this far south, but they were always at places like Gebo's when I was a kid up in in the Panhandle.
(One of those might make a better base than the panty hose too.)

You can get a similar effect with plastic wrap, and it comes in pink.
If you put earplugs in before winding the lace or plastic around the sub's head, it further decreases the sensory input to which they have access.
Personally, i *love* full head hoods - almost glove quality black leather with the gag and blinfold in place, of course. However, they do take some working up to, and immense trust between the partners, too. I wouldn't allow a Dominant i know only rather casually to use one on me, that's for sure.
