avi mpeg and bloody stupid computer

TO those computer experts out there, do you know why Windows media player will play one half of a movie fine, then when I play the second half I only get sound?

Mebbe the file your playing is partially corrupted, or the people who made the video didn't know what they were doing, or your version of the media player is buggy. It could be a lot of things.

Does the player do that for all movies you have?

Or does only that one mess up?

The Windows media player is the new one with WinXP and plays most movies fine. But some it wont play the picture just the sound. I get them of P2P netoworks and have a movie could play fine and the other half not, although they are made by the same person.

That does sound like a corrupted file to me.

Try the movie with another player, such as Quick Time or BS Player or something similar.
