A storm rages in the mountains. The tides rise in the sea. A dark presence stalks the dreams of a sleeping woman. Kayna lay motionless in the dark. Her body flush, sweat rollng over her supple skin. Kayna's body rages against her.
In the time since the end of the war, Kayna has wandered. Sought knowledge and to understand why fate had shunned her. She had only had a singular goal, destruction of the Fire Nation. When she lost her chance for this vengeance she found a new goal. To destroy the girl that usurped her place as a disciple of Master Pakku. Then, the war was ended. This girl, Katara, she had helped to destroy the Fire Nation that had so ravaged Kayna and her people. This girl once again had usurped Kayna's destiny. Kayna had wished to find her. Destroy her. But she had given up. If Kayna was to move against this, Katara, then the Avatar himself would be there to stop her.
Kayna had first had the vision some time ago. A dark shape that stalked the corners of her dreams. A dark shape that propositioned her. It spoke in a voice like the chill of the grave.
"Kayna... I can offer you your destiny. If you come to my master, follow his earthly general. If you are wise, you can achieve all you ever wanted. The heir to the Fire Nation seeks her vengeance, help her, and you can face and destroy this thorn in your side. And once this is done you can take your revenge on the entirety of the Fire Nation. For she will destroy the Avatar, and the world shall be vulnerable. The World, shall be yours..."
Over and over again the shadow returns. Every night, promising her such splendid things. And thus, Kayna had started this voyage. She had rented this room just an hours walk from the Fire Nation Palace just a day before Azula and her forces arrived. As the battle raged, Kayna fell into a state of unconsciousness. Her dreams were plagued once more. But this time there was a new message. She was to get into the Fire Nation Palace. There, she would find what she had so long sought.
Kayna snaps awake. Breathless. Her body aching. She stands and removes garments from her bags. An outfit she has not worn in many years. The garments of her native peoples. Kayna dresses and walks into the darkness of the night. Kayna approaches the intimidating palace of The Fire Lord. Kayna did not know how she was going to get in. Just that this is what had been asked of her. Kayna approaches the Palace, nerves of steel. A hand on her water skin. She stands in the shadows of the wall. Feeling the coolness of the night.
"Whoever you are... you better know what your doing. Sending me right into the mouth of a Dragon is what you've done. I must have really lost it this time." Kayna mumbles to herself as she sits and leans on the wall. Trusting the light of the moon, she starts no fire.
