Hope you two and Calistamon can manage to stay warm and dry.

I have other friends up there and I know that one lot will be very wet based on where they live. The others are up the hills a bit behind the hospital so I'm thinking they'll be ok.

:rose:

Is everyone Alright?

Hope you guys are all ok looks pretty grim from the TV news????

:eek:Mont

Hey Triskele,

Hope you are OK ...by the way......Looking back in the posts I saw you had a birthday Sorry I missed it hope you had a great one.....

;) Mont

We're all good, Mont. The worst seems to be over for us. It's not good for so many others. Some are getting their third hit by floods. I hope it all passes quickly for them.

Thank You! I had a wonderful weekend, spent with a lovely man and special friends. :D

My daughter has decided to separate from her partner. There have been problems with gambling and lying on his part, he told her he'd paid the phone bill when he hadn't and it was in danger of being cut off when she found out about it - and she had to pay it out of her savings. Can't be without a phone when you have a young baby and dodgy mobile reception

He also came at her as if he was going to hit her but punched the wall instead - it's still just as bad though. I think he would have if she hadn't yelled at him as he came up off the bed "Don't you bloody dare hit me!". He's got a criminal past and some dodgy associates and she doesn't want to be mixed up in any criminal activities he might get involved with.

If she can't trust him it isn't worth staying. She's moving back with her dad for a while and hoping to move into a house in that area and apply for the single mother's pension (DPB - Domestic Purposes Benefit it's called in NZ). I've sent her $500 and if she needs more she only has to ask.

Hey, Bandit :rose: Your daughter is doing the right thing. We both know that once that line is crossed there's no going back. I hope she finds a safe, contented and happy place both physically and mentally.

Roma Tomatos don't like to grow upside down, though my Cherry Tomatos are looking good

Her dad never hit me, but he was violent with animals and had a volatile temper.

It's only a very short step from punching a wall and punching her. My grandson shouldn't grow up in a home with a man who can't control his temper, who lies to his mother and gambles their money away. She might not think so right now, but she will be better off in the long run with family support close by.

It's times like these that I wish I didn't live so far away....:(

She knows you'd be there if you could
Definitely doing the right thing - once that line is crossed, there's no going back.

My no1son had an operation this morning. Thankfully, he came thro ok, but his medical condition is much worse than expected.
He will now be on immuno-suppressants and high-dose steroids for a while... which will make him short-tempered, prone to anger outbursts, and susceptible to every little bug he comes across:(
Unfortunately, his illness is one that strikes without warning, and can continue for life. The surgeon wanted to admit him to hospital immediately, but we asked for an alternate treatment to begin with as no1son is a lot like me and hates hospitals.
The surgeon, thankfully, was fine with trying an alternative first. So now it's wait-and-see for the next week.
Poor kid - this is a lifechanging thing for him :(

Byron Bay was smoking last weekend, only a couple of small showers of rain, warm, beach every day, cruising the streets, Wedding was great fun and a most beautiful bride, I need to go back, this shitty cold Victorian place is no fun at all.

I actually think Tassie has much better weather than Melbourne/surrounds.
Today, for example, it is 23 degrees, sunny and no wind.
Gorgeous day!
