lol - actually, i got caught up reading!
sometimes a book just grabs me and won't let go... i couldn't put this one down and finally turned the last page at 2am
and no, i didn't end up finishing the bourbon.

i'm not so much worried about the surgery... more concerned about when the anaesthetic wears off!
i'm told i will have at least 8 stitches in my gum

I find it ironic that the USA gets horrendous storms, tornadoes and whatnot - yet they continue to build their homes out of chipboard

I am home. Still numb for now.
Instructions are to take 2 mega painkillers every 4 hours for the next 24.
Ice packs to be applied to the side of my face every 2 hours for the next 12.
Good news is my surgeon preserved the facial nerve (he did bump it tho, so my pain will be quite bad for the next few days). But no palsy, thank goodness!
Bad news is I have 14 stitches in my gum, and will not be able to eat solid food for the next 5 to 7 days.

On the up side there are several I know are fighting hard including Rasher who I hope is getting good reports after Chemo & Radiation over with.

BANDIT has been wonderful comming up with soft foods for me while my mouth heals up.

Try and rest if you can. Music, maybe? Not head banger. lol and DEFINATELY no comedy. Smiling is a bitch, when your sore and swollen!!

Somebody remind me why I did this under local, and not under general in a hospital with a morphine drip after?

My night has been absolutely horrific. I've been up most of it with pain and bleeding.
I sorta dozed, off and on, but every 2 hours I was awake and in pain. Rang the hospital, and have been given a new cocktail of drugs to control the pain (I have oxy's, temazapm, codeine forte and doxylamine succinate on hand).
If anything, the swelling is way worse - I now have a straight line from just under my left eye to my collarbone. My cheek is so fat that it's pressing on my teeth and tongue on the inside
When I take a step, the jarring goes straight to my face.

Right now, I can't talk properly. So I have to write things down for the kids. I kinda mumble.
The eldest kidlet has been great - he's been up every hour or so all night to check on me.
I kmew this would be bad, and normally I can take a fair bit of pain, but I'm really suffering here.
If it doesn't ease up by later this arvo, I'll get the kidlet to drive me down to the doc/hosp.

Bottom line - if you don't have to get your wisdom teeth out, leave them be!

WQ that sounds really bad. I would head for the doc/hospital asap. At least they can give you morphine IV, you must be having great trouble swallowing pills

The new drug combo is finally getting on top of the pain.
It's now about 2/3 of what it was, which is a BIG improvement.
Actually, I'm flying a little.

Swelling seems to have stopped. But it looks horrendous - I have no face on the left.
And now the bruising has started to colour up
