Aussies! Check in here!

Urk..... you sounding so busy in the garden is reminding me of all that has to be done here
I still haven't trimmed the roses back and now have hips (not wanting to waste them, I've justified not pruning by saying I will make jam).
Still a bit too cold here anyway.....

Hey WQ:kiss:

I have lots more to do in the garden front and back. I've been concentrating on the house most Christmas holidays, so the gardens have taken over somewhat, now that I have lots of time its the weather I'm waiting on.

As for the roses well I used to think trimming them back was the done thing but have come to the conclusion that just leaving them alone works just as well. I have three different types of roses as far as I know. They all bloom every year with lots of colour and people ask me what I do to get those blooms...well I don't do anything. I have a couple of pics of the rose creeper attached. Sadly I'll have to cut it back to remove the twisted arch which was damaged several years ago when the roof came off. The roses are still thriving though.

Well a sore & sorry Gil_T2 is back. A guy I knew in the 70s from the speedway came down to Sydney from QLD & he brought me a box of speedway goodies (BANDIT:heart: calls it junk) he offered to carry it up for me but I said I'll be right & headed uo the path then ended uo ass over tit putting my teeth through my top lip, mulitiple cuts & bruises & a very sore & swollen right hand & shoulder pain, all this happened last Saturday & still hurting big time.:(

Poor Bandit:heart: came down to see where I was & lucky a neighbour & anothers wife came to rescue me & it took all 3 to get me up.

I worry the shit out of poor BANDIT:heart: as well as all this last friday the day before the fall & had to get my fistula ballooned again because it had narrowed making it hard to get the cannulas in but now that is all good.

I'm little help as need help to get up, go to the loo, shower etc.

BANDIT:heart: is a champion for putting up with me as my health keeps failing me.

Hey Gil,

Yep falling when you get older takes longer to get over. I've noticed that after I got to 40, things just take longer to heal. I was in my back garden a couple of weeks ago and face planted on the ground, luckily the grass is rather soft. Didn't think much of it except from the scratch on the nose but the next day my jaw on the left side was sore and it didn't go away for a week. Bandit is a real trooper for sure, although there may have been a bit of "silly bugger" whispered since the guy offered to carry the stuff for you. Its ok to get help even if you think you don't need it.

Hahaha :D
That's alright..... I'm like an old lamp in the corner of granny's livingroom.
Not to everyone's taste and doesn't quite match any decor, but comes in usefull sometimes.

I had a quick peek at your profile and see you like sailing.
I grew up on a yacht, travelling the world.

Well you know what happens when you rub granny's lamp....:D

Dear Diary,

It seems that the media you use to communicate changes the meaning of things such as when you receive a card, LOL means 'lots of love' yet when receiving a text message it means 'laughing out loud'. Social media can be quite unsociable at times and doing the right thing depends on having a moral compass. In the world of communication such as it is these days taking ownership of your comments seems to depend on what others will tolerate, like being ever reliant on a parent to set your boundaries. Nannies are being ever more relied upon.

Afternoon to all,

Well its seems the chill of winter is being shucked off all over the place. Was a lovely sunny day here in Melbourne town on Friday. Just one of those sunny, not warm or hot days, a light breeze and most of all no noise of lawn mowers going off. A day to just sit and appreciate the world we live in.

Hello to the latest newbie Sir Sydney although that Sir thing ain't going to last so Syd will be more apt.

The birds seem to of got the message to not use my car as a roost. Haven't had to clean up bird poop for a few weeks since I came up with my little trick.

Still haven't got a good stir fry recipe to my taste however enjoying cooking more, cheaper as well it turns out.

Hope everyone has a good start to the week, I'll be watching the NFL. About the only time I've used the alarm clock in recent months.

First major spring storm - has been raining all day and we have gale force winds.

Gday darkelf.
My gran, who grew beautiful roses, always used horse manure as fertiliser.
Heaps of roses, all colours, all kinds, are out on the campus here - late autumn.

It was raining today so I thought I'd miss the eclipse because of cloud.... but the Gods have turned the sprinklers off and now I have a perfect view :)

I still have time to set up the telescope but it is pretty cloudy here in Western Australia. No sign of the moon being likely to be visible at this stage. Hope it is a better view in the east.

Here in Launy, I have a perfect view.

Damn..I looked out my window..at about 8 pm (that'd be 10 pm AEST) and had a perfect view of a big yellow moon. Here, we get the actual 'face of the man in the moon' too).

Then I forgot to look a couple of hours later.

Oh well!

Just looked again now (it's 1 am); the sky is absolutely clear. No clouds. The moon is still easily visible. Would have been perfect.

Greetings, Literoticans one and all.....

Thought I would pop in and wave.

I joined the senior set last weekend (well, chronologically anyway, as the head says I'm still a great deal younger) but still biting anything that comes too close as Dragons are wont to do...
