Aussies! Check in here!

Afternoon all,

Well its December and its Christmas card time and Christmas shopping and the time of the 3 Ho's and the guy in the red suit. Not sure why we continue to be offered Christmas cards with snow in the picture, well yes ok they are made in China from a northern hemisphere view of Christmas but it doesn't snow in other parts of the world at Christmas.

The humid weather certainly has brought storms to parts of the country, hopefully our Brisvegas fellow posters didn't get blown away or hailed on. Only heat down here in Melbourne town, we did get a cool change but not much, will cool down in the next couple of days though with some proper wet stuff on the way. Yay Summer.

As you all know we had elections here and a new govt elected and the first order of business is getting rid of a new toll road that frankly people didn't want. Only time will tell if the right decision was made.

Let's get back to those three Ho's.

What does that make Scott Morrison?

Happy International Human Rights Day, folks!

Hey there!

That had passed me by... too busy choking on the cornflakes over Seeney's(Qld minister) see nothing, hear nothing, say nothing approach to climate change...

Greetings aussies :)

It's been a while since I posted..... life getting in the way!

I've been house-hunting with not too much success. Want something that's not too old, which is a biggish ask in Tassie. Plus I need a lockup garage so there's that.

Preparations for Xmas are well under way. Most stuff bought, just food to go really.

Plus, my youngest gave me a horror cold which has laid me flat for a bit. Add in my broken foot and you end up with a cranky wq!

Hope everyone is in better shape than I!

Stay safe over the next few crazy weeks :rose:

Three ho's......hmmmm.....I'm thinking tony abbot, joe hockey and Christopher pyne

Not the three Ho's I meant these are more like:

Tony Abbott - Elmer Fudd

Joe Hockey - Christmas Gringe

Christopher Pyne - Child Catcher (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)

Afternoon all,

Seems the north continues to have storms, I reckon we start building more dams in Qld and NSW and pipe the stuff to the other states. We could turn the centre of the country green.

Hoping for more of the wet stuff here in Melbourne town. Much cooler here now after two rather warm days, not good if you are not well such as myself. On the mend I hope, but not in time for Christmas, still life goes on and things need to be done. Thankfully the elbow wasn't impacted, although sleeping is still a hassle.

Been quiet in here lately so obviously people have been busy in the lead up to the festive season. It would be more festive if someone else organized it all and did the shopping. Thankfully I did all my shopping early before I got too unwell so the extended family will get their presents.

Went to Dan Murphy's yesterday and they had three people directing traffic. The boxes of booze were flying into car boots. Bulk wine purchases from people who don't drink during most of the year.

I found a version of Guinness which I first tried when I visited Ireland back in '88 which was hard to find back then. Brings back memories.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Christmas. I'll be driving all day as per usual.

Merry Christmas to all my adopted country folk. May your barbies feed you and the waters of pools, oceans, rivers and lakes cool you...

Here's hoping you all had as good a Christmas day as I did :)
Family, friends, good food, laughter and love flowed freely in Casa WQ today.
Thoughtful gifts were exchanged and so were hugs.
All in all, a good relaxing and enjoyable Xmas.

Merry Christmas, fellow Aussies!

It's been a very quiet one here, but that's not a bad thing.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and dodged the crowds today.

It poured down at the coast for Chrissy lunch but it was kinda nice. Still warmish and the lightening put on a bit of a show.

I'm sorry to see you've been ill, Mr Elf. :( I hope you're picking up in time for New Years celebrations. Must've been tiring with all the driving you do at Chrissy. You're right about our weather. The county's schitzo, weather wise. Take care of you. :rose:

Meanwhile we all gotta get through the whole silly week. Have a goodie! ;) :rose:

Hey Trisk

Good to see you've made time to post one more time before the year is out.

Thanks for well wishes, I'm not totally cured but definitely things are on the improve. Luckily I felt better on Christmas Eve so the long drive was possible, people more concerned about getting my mum to the lunch, I'm just the driver and the long haul carrier on that day. Another long day yesterday for another family lunch. Rather tired today so just taking it easy, did buy some champagne yesterday though. Now that I'm not taking the medication I can have a proper drink. Happy to let 2014 go.

Hope you have a good and safe night.

Afternoon all for the last afternoon of the year,

Also my last post for the year, yeah well I know tomorrow is next year but you can't go back in time, no do-overs.

Weather here in Melbourne town seems to be the least fireworks friendly, going to be chilly for those venturing to the Yarra River for the fireworks. Well at least it won't be raining. :D

The new year will bring cheaper travelling on the Melbourne PT for those living in Zone 2 also anyone visiting Melbourne from the new year will be able to travel free within the shopping and CBD areas of the city. Finally something for the people, will also be good for the tourists during the tennis next month.

Into my 8th month of self-imposed unemployment and thus far things are going along fine. Even new video games to play.

Have a safe time going forth to a new year. The only resolution you need to make for the new year is find your happy place, the rest will sort itself out.

Happy New Year (early, in case I'm too drunk to post later)'s for everyone!

I will say now that I am glad my own 'annus horribilus' will be over and I can concentrate on achieving a much better 2015.
Never have I been so glad to see a year end

New years resolution?
Remember to put a '5' at the end of the date :D

Stay safe everybody xxx

A Happy New Year to all!

First post for 2015 and thought I should post a pic to bring in the new year.

Hope the year starts off in the right direction for all. Looking forward to a new year with better outcomes.
