Aussies! Check in here!

Great pic, elf :)
I got horribly messy last night/this morning, but woke after 4 1/2 hours sleep feeling remarkably good - albeit with a craving for bacon and eggs!

Hello!

Adelaide girl here, thought I'd pop in and say hello and see how everyone else is enjoying 2015?

I'm only new-ish to Lit and have been living in the SRP sub-forum co-authoring some stuff.

Glad to see there's a small representation of Aussies here!

Hi minx :)
Wwlcome.to our little corner. A bit slow sometimes, but do check in regulaly as people post sporadically!

Stay safe and as cool as possible tomorrow!

I hope all our Aussie friends in SA, NSW, Vic and Tas (oh, wait... I'm the only one in Tassie!) are safe from the fires :rose:

A Happy New Year to all!

First post for 2015 and thought I should post a pic to bring in the new year.

Hope the year starts off in the right direction for all. Looking forward to a new year with better outcomes.

Great picture! Hope your New Year is a wonderful one.

A wiggle in for the New Year

Wiggles in with a sashay of hips and much blowing of horns "Happy New Year to one and all"

Hoping you have all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and will have an amazing New Year. Here's to hoping it will bring us all the good, the happy, the wicked things we desire.

Drooping through the usual December/January heat and humidity this way, as I see many have suffered at various time most places around this island of ours. I talk to friends overseas and am really, really just wanting to have snow fall, just for once. Of course they are all whinging about it...meh...grass is always greener isn't it?

Back on the hospital merry go round for me, still working on the mobility and fingers crossed for being able to take the trips to America in May and England/Paris and Holland in September.

A quick hello to Elfie:kiss: lad...***** treating you well there? How are the renovations going? You must have a good hand motion worked up from all that digging and banging. If you ever need to keep it in practice, am happy to oblige. ;)

Okies...this was a fast trip through, I am being beckoned from afar....

Stay well all, sin and be wicked.

:kiss:MsMoon:kiss:

Hey WQ,

Yes its always the way that you need something fried or a coke after a big night. I don't really get too wasted, takes a lot and I haven't drunk that much since my OS trips a while ago. Having said that I'm working my way through my collection of spirits which I get as gifts each Christmas. Up to the 12yr old stuff and since I'm still unemployed I've taken up a new hobby of trying new beers. There is so much choice these days.

My Summer was rather crap being afflicted with a skin condition. I've been through a bit and it seems I will have to tolerate it a little while longer. You know the medical profession has given up when they start mentioning your age in the diagnosis. I'm getting to know what the word 'ointment' means. However I haven't helped myself by burning a couple of fingers on my left hand, just to add fuel to the fire so to speak. A double reason to be pissed off.

Sorry to hear about the skin cancer but good that it was caught in time. Think of all the money you are saving on hair care products and the hairdresser's. More money for booze :D and congrats on being a nanna again a previous work friend had a baby recently and she is loving being a mom for the first time.

Great picture! Hope your New Year is a wonderful one.

Hey Kayte ,

Hope your year has been better than mine thus far. The only positive remains my lack of urgency to work again. Still playing video games and was looking forward to do some work around the house during Summer, waiting for my hands to become useful again, well I have one good hand to use so I guess it could be worse.

That pic has a beer in it which I first tasted in Ireland which was only available in Ireland. Murphy's was only available on tap in a few Irish pubs. It took a bit of investigation but I finally found a pub that served it. Its like Guinness but a bit sweeter. Certainly brought back memories of my trip to Ireland and the UK many years ago.

Hey Miss Moon

Well I guess so long as the hips are still working and bending over isn't restricted. This Summer gives lots of reasons why I couldn't live in Qld. Not to mention the cyclones and another one on the way this week I see. Hopefully it reduces in intensity before it hits land.

Hope the medical report is positive and secondly the holiday plans work out. First thing is to get healthy which is worth more than money. Having my own issues with health and been to the emergency dept with my mum last month. At least I'm getting use of the medical facilities I've been paying for all these years, and with the new payment methods less time spent in queues. Although no technology is going to speed up the waiting room experience, ain't no express lane in those places.

Whilst I can't use my hands too well I can still use my fingers :D Don't forget to give your nipples a tug for me, next time you're in that vicinity.

Evening all,

Now that Summer is gone and the freshness of the year has started to wear off, hopefully it doesn't feel old already. From the posts it seems I've been away a couple of months, not due to work reasons which makes a change. Gained another year also but on the positive side one year closer to early retirement, however since I'm not working not sure if it's really retirement.

Welcome to the new and infrequent posters. Things do get quiet in here, but thanks to WQ at least the thread still has a pulse.

It seems we have sport coming out of all the pores. Although not sure what season it is with the cricket still going and the AFL and rugby starting, then again it doesn't help when the supermarkets started selling Easter eggs in late Feb, then having sales on the Easter eggs, so is it a pre-season sale or a post season sale and do they really care?

Not impressed with the cricket coverage coming from OS even though the games are being held locally, like watching the Olympics in one country but the coverage being broadcast from another country.

Hope you all have a good week

Evening, Elfie!

Damn, it's quiet in here. I better stick my head in more often, just to stop the thread grinding to a complete halt. :p

Hi aussies :)

I haven't been around as much, because the last month has been pretty hectic.
Moved house, had 2 surgeries, moved the contents of one storage container to another (and got injured in the process), car broke down but is now fixed, and radiation treatment starts tomorrow.
Phew!
I'm kinda glad the treatment is starting, because I will be forced to slow down!

Hey there :rose:

Yes I'm talking to your boobs, you can't blame me given your av.

As you say we need more people to pop in and post to keep things moving, but then I'm guilty of not doing the same.

Evening all,

Well ok I know we are girt by sea but does it have to be pissed of with us so much. I reckon we're on the cyclone jihad list. The south is also copping a bit of the wild weather from a different system. Still reckon we should be shipping rainwater from the north to other parts of the country. Qld will have to start thinking of building dykes if they keep getting the amount of rain they have been.

So is NSW going to follow the anti-Abbott trend of Vic and Qld? Seems the Libs are determined to keep bailing. The only thing you can depend on is Tony putting his foot in it again. Next he'll be saying poverty is a work life balance issue as in not doing enough work. Wonder if smoking Joe is going to dance before his budget this year then laugh about.

Well its been ten months since I stopped paying taxes. I could get used to this not working stuff. Hope everyone's week goes quickly.
