As well as the other bugs, published stories now not appearing on the author’s page of works

With the help of one of our writers (you know who you are and I thank you profusely), I confirmed that followers do receive updates. I updated telling them of my new story and since then, the number of votes and views has definitely ticked up, but probably not as much as if it hadn’t been buried by the programming flaw(s) in the first place.
If I understood it right, you're saying that if an author publishes a new story, the followers don't get the notification, but if he updates his profile, they do?

I think it's more that if an author publishes a new story the followers don't always get the notification. Cause I've gotten a couple, one of which went straight to the archive. But it seems like a fraction of what I should be getting.

They get notified that there is a change in the author’s profile. They have to open the profile to read what you have written and if you have written that there is a new story, they might go and read it. Cumbersome, but better than nothing.

Okay, but they won't get a notification if an author's story gets published, and the author doesn't make any changes in their profile?

I'm still torn as to whether to just let the wheels turn and see if they get things right and maybe just give my story a (VERY) late notification to my readers.

But ill be happy if they can find it in my Works at this point, because tomorrow itll basically drop off the map, buried under new releases.

I might be misunderstanding here, but remember that the number of followers is usually a tiny subset of the number of readers of a story. Updating your profile will give the followers a notification that you've updated your profile, and that's absolutely worth doing anyway to keep it current. However, if you have stories with hundreds of thousands of 'views' (as you have for your 'backseat boy' story), it's still a drop in the ocean for your followers to get notification of a new story. The 'new' and 'top' lists seem to rule the view count.

Yikes. Clicked on one of my stories in my works list and got a 404 error. Hit refresh and it wnet away, not sure if that's a site error or just my connection being slow (it is a lot of the time)
OK, I just had that.

Had to refresh three times before the story appeared. Not an issue my end.

What fresh hell is this?

As of a day or two ago, the "new" feed is working properly, from what I can see. There's a day or two where the crossover from "the archive" wasn't ideal, but it began running correctly two midnight server runs ago, I reckon.

You're getting notifications about new stories from the authors you're following?

If you experience a 404 error, there is an option on the New Feedback Form
Feedback Category - Issue Type
Sub-category - Errors 500 403 404 410

Again, suggest if you hit any of these errors you complete a New Feedback Form

I have 414 followers. that may be tiny to some, but its not to me. A notification that my story is published immediately lets them know there is a new story and provides them a link they can click right to it.

Updating my profile creates a new notification, sure. But how many readers actually check those to see what the author updated? Im willing to bet not many.

and even if they did and saw my note where I say I have a new story published, now they have to chase down finding it because it didn't even show up in my Works page.

Manu posted this on Saturday so they are reading the Feedback Forms / Bug Reports

I'd really recommend filling out those every time you hit a problem

Ay east we have confirmation that they are being read

I'm getting mew follower notifications but no notifications on new comments
Odd. I've got follower and comment notifications, but don't follow enough authors to know about "new feed" story notifications. The last author notifications were for TP and Melissa's latest stories, but they're in the archive list.
