Are most dominant women shy and more so for the Canadians?

I have been looking through the post on the forum here and a pattern has emerged. Submissive men or men who wish to be put into a submissive role-play are pretty much ignored by the dominate women. Not so for submissive women, they are swamped.

Is it because dominant women are a rare breed?

Are you all taken?

Is it that women who fantasize about being dominant are actually reluctant to explore that side of themselves?

Lets hear your opinion on this phenomenon!

I don't think it's that Dominant women are shy- I think it's that we're less common than dominant men, and so the minute we mention our taste, we're swamped via PM. Each time I've mentioned my Domme side, I get a string of PMs from wannabe sub males.

I have a male sub IRL, and that works just fine for me. I've never had success with online relationships where I'm the DOmme and a male is the sub- they're too wishy washy. They back out near immediately. It bugs me.

I agree with you, Ms. Lilith. I was in a D/S chat the other day and a Domme entered. Immediately all the sub men swamped her, begging for her attention. Most don't even know how to properly behave, or even bother to type out full words and phrases. I myself have been doing online roleplay for almost 10 years, so while I am a male sub, I don't consider myself a "wannabe," as I have plenty of experience in the realm. I do get upset with people who want to be submissive simply because it's easier, and because they're lazy, as opposed to those who truly are submissive.

I'm switch. I don't think that submission is any easier than domination. Sometimes it's really fucking hard to be submissive, to take the pain, the humiliation- but I keep my eyes on the aftercare, and it makes everything easier for me.

I've found when I get involved with a man that claims to be sub, that he actually just wants to dominate from beneath. He doesn't actually want to do what I ask of him, he wants me to dominate him according to his fantasies.

It usually ends up working, at least temporarily, because I'm also turned on by pleasing others, as I'm really more of a Switch than a full Domme, but I can't say I've ever really met a true male sub.

Topping from the bottom- I agree, another of the downfalls of many male subs. My sub tried that with me. It lasted about 30 seconds until I told him to stop being an ass.
