Anyone for a nightcap?

::knock knock...pokes head in::
can i join in? all alone here with my Riesling...

My new guy's go to drink is usually Crown Royal. To celebrate him winning a bet that took six months to win, I was thinking of getting him something a little more "fancy." I am not a whiskey drinker. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Much appreciated.

Well it seems your new guy has great taste in drinks and company. :)

You know, not to be TOO literal... but there is a special reserve Crown Royal that is yummy and you know, could be reserved for special occasions. ;)

How does he drink his whiskey? Does he drink it mostly straight, with just ice, or with mixers like soda water mixed in?

Cool suggestion - I'll check it out. Thanks!

The delicate sweet nectar of a pinkish flower. ;)

 He has tasted the sweet nectar and apparently likes it okay for now at least.

mmmm...::runs to the cabinet for a wine and chocolate pairing...wonders what to do with the peanut butter::

Make a pate? Wasn't there a discussion of peanut butter and wine awhile back, featuring MWY as the steward? Maybe fluffernutters?

You have peanut butter cups and you haven't shared with me?

That's it, back to the shed with you!

If I don't get some fucking BBQ dipping sauce for my peanut butter cups, pronto, then I am NEVER coming back to this shed again...

Yes. I tried a hearty red blend but c_in_c recommended a pinot noir. The jury is still out and I'm scheduled for my next round of fluffernutters in three weeks.

mmmmm.... fluffernutters...
actually not sure that would go well with Whoop Whoop Shiraz mixed with Blueberry Pomegranate juice
all this talk of fluff and peanut butter has me hoping hump day passes quickly...

Wow. Wenchie is in a toppy mood this evening.

The question is: what to pair with peanut butter cups?

meh i'm bored and trying to decide if i am in enough pain to take a pill. that and i haven't had any physical attention in two months so i have an abundunance of un tapped sexual energy... even more than usual

oh you know you like it behind the shed. we both know you will be back.

Last night had some riesling from a local winery...Tawse. Very good. Their chardonnay was a terrible pairing for dinner though so it got put in the fridge and a bottle of Big House White came out instead.

Ah, Big House White. Now that's a good chilled sipper right there. Sorry to hear your chard didn't want to play nicely with dinner. Hope it finds a more suitable friend soon.

Well Big House White was your recommendation. ;)

I'm sure the chard will find a friend. Ah I just looked the info up on the winery's website and it's aged in 100% French Oak barriques. That was the problem. Didn't say it was oaked so I assumed it wasn't. Salmon or roasted pork tenderloin would be much friendlier...both which are in my freezer.

You've developed a much more sophisticated pairing sense than I. My new rule of thumb for pairings is this: with any food, the wine must be liquid.
