Anyone for a nightcap?

Wow! You guys are hopping tonight! I just ran out to do a quick 15 minute lap with the dogs and now I can't keep up here or in the I Feel Pretty thread.

I have a lot to say about both. But I'm not sure if I'll get it all in cogently, so let me first say: Thank you for sharing 00Syd. I hope he turns out to be just as wonderful as he should be. I think you deserve the very best!

p.s. to MWY, the loon has not yet divined any secrets. I am working on patience, though....

Patience can be a virtue, so I'm told. I'm much fonder of vice at the moment, but you're welcome to enjoy your virtues as you wish. :rose:

*considers a picnic with a corseted and perhaps somehow restricted CM looking really cute to which I bring a bottle of wine as a surprise with nothing but dixie cups on us, oh my*

*snortgigglecoughpealsoflaughterwithmoresnorting*

Ahhh the mindfuckery!

:D

The Chenin Blanc is happily hanging out at the new house - my only goal after work tomorrow is to unpack enough to slip into something deadly and drink wine while staring at my gorgeous new [to me] antiques.

Tonight... last minute packing, assisted by wine coolers.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I think we need pics of the new boudoir. Or at least the lovely furniture. Your new room sounds really perfect...

Surely you knew I had bookmarked your blog, silly girl.

I love the armoire! And you look to have a beautiful room once you are all moved in. Hurrah for you! :rose:

yawn. <-----isolated blurt, but I had some wine earlier so it fits on this thread. :p

Yay for Cutie. I had to look hand scraped hardwood floors. I'd never heard that term, and I did find a lot of references from Texas on the web. Maybe that term is more common there?

Not sure, but I think the basic idea is to make new floors look old.

Speaking of nostalgic yearnings, apparently some in Texas are hankering to secede once again! This makes me lol.

And speaking of lol'ing, ITW, check this out. (When Netzach comes back, she should check that out too. I swear, her crush Gergen practically blushes at the end.)

In new houses they do it to make the floors look old.

In my house, the floors are old... my room's in the "new" addition - dating to 1914.

:D

JM, Texans never stopped hankering to secede... ;)

And BOT - very very much want the wineness [ye gods what a long day], but I still have two cats to move and a bedroom to unearth from the moving boxes.

That's a genuinely old house! Are you moving to, or from, that place?

And will you still be in Texas? I'm interested to know what you folks think about the Governor's rally today.

Couldn't you have done this 8 years ago, and taken Dubya with you? That's what I kept thinking about today.

No offense to you lone star people, but your timing really sucks.

Finishing off the last of a bottle of Flourish Cabernet. It's a smallish French label. What I really need is a beer mug full of 120 proof scotch. Oh well.

Hee hee. Awesome. Aww, I miss the Coop.

Has it been around for a while or is this a new technique?

ETA: I've been reading a lot of stuff on old houses recently, but primarily rowhouse-specific.

WHY AM I NOT 21 YET???

This reminds me of the speech my mother delivered when I was 12 or 13 or so...and desperate to to begin shaving my legs. She told me, pretty simply, that I would regret it, since once you start shaving, you have to keep doing it.

And of course, she was right. Grrr....

So being 21 is pretty nice. But don't rush it. Enjoy where you are right this very minute. Because you won't ever be here again.

And taxes are a bitch, let me tell you...
