When in doubt, blame the corporate world, I might gather midevil is the department upstairs from lowerevil and a few floors below upperevil, mind that's a guess, nothing more......

English is stupid. Medieval is not pronounced "meh dee ee vahl" like it should be. It is pronounced "mid evil". Ipso, facto.
