Is it just me, or does there seem to be an increase in the amount of paranoid drivel on the GB lately? It's hard to believe anyone with half a brain could possibly believe some of this rooster shit. In one political thread one poster asked another why he hadn't heard of a historical figure - didn't you read comic books? (He was serious). Some of the conspiracy theories sound like they come straight from the supermarket tabloids, which is probably their primary source of information. This isn't about liberals, conservatives, Republicans, or Democrats. They don't know the diff anyway.

What really bothers me is the lack of tolerance of opposing viewpoints. Seems like all intentional debates turn into flame wars and namecalling.

After a recent debate, how coincidental was it that I received an email (with the return address from the President) that had a virus in it. Thank goodness for virus protection, the bells and whistles went off and I sent it directly to the trash can. That's about as mature as imbedding a URL in a post that causes the person opening it to crash and burn. Hmmmm, spinkid?

It's a well known fact that the mass-media comic industry is merely a clever front for the ongoing CIA initiative to brainwash the general public (by way of subliminal messages), while simultaneously lowering their intelligence (by way of shallow characters, drastically limited vocabulary, and repetitive, simplistic story lines).

Don't discount alternative points of view either...sure, I myself have come up with some off-the-wall sources to argue the other side, but not every news source is without bias or lies.

It's nice to see the entire picture, instead of just one side or the other. Going through life with blinders on just seems so wasteful. People need to throw off the blinders, and actually make their own decisions.

One thing I have noticed about Lit, and forums in general, is that there are very few "leaders", a whole lot of "followers", but very few with their own original thoughts.
