Do we wish war?

It appears so, because of two men who are probably disadvantaged with their genitals, we are going to war?

Bush and Hussein, it is a family feud. One day America is a ally to murderers and now they wish to attack?

Americans are such simple people, so easily led.

Americans should be born with a permanent nose ring so they can be led around. It would make life simpler for them and their political masters.

*yawn*

The constant, irrepressible banality of this argument is beginning to tire me.

Hmmm. 270 million nose rings.
Good idea.
I see an investment opportunity.
I'll start looking around for ring manufacturers to invest in.
:)

Some already have some..

Animal rights campaigners have complained to Yasser Arafat after a donkey was blown up in a bomb attack in the West Bank.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) has sent a letter to the Palestinian leader to protest at last month's blast near Jerusalem.

No humans were killed when the donkey was strapped with explosives and detonated, but the attack narrowly missed an Israeli bus carrying soldiers.

"We have received many calls and letters from people shocked at the bombing," Peta president Ingrid Newkirk wrote.

"If you have the opportunity, will you please add to your burdens my request that you appeal to all those who listen to you to leave the animals out of this conflict?"

Ms Newkirk says she has not asked Mr Arafat to try to stop suicide bombings that kill people.

"It's not my business to inject myself into human wars," she told the Washington Post.

She adopted a polite tone in the letter because the group always try to "ask nicely" the first time, a Peta spokesman says.

A spokesman for the Israeli Embassy in Washington said: "When you have a regime that has no respect for human life, can you really expect them to respect animal life?"

*Oh, where are my manners? Fuck you! :D

Aside from the genitals issue, which we must assume is your specialty, one must ask these questions: Is the world safer with Saddam in power? Are Iraq citizens better off with Saddam in power? Should we wait for Saddam to strike again before we take him out of power?
Finally, one must ask who is the "we" who are going to war? You speak of Americans in the third person, almost in a tone of contempt. You know, the Americans that bailed Western Europe out a couple of times before.
You sound like a snooty European.
Am I wrong?

Lets hear it for moronic generalizations!

And besides, it's not like America has 40+ countries that would support it, militarily, financially, or morally, in this matter.

Nope.

Us alone.

Is that the criteria for war now?
The US would be safer with George Bush in charge of Italy. Should we take out Berlusconi because that would be nicer for the US? What about Korea? There is a clear threat, and Bush is not sabre rattling there. I think it is a family feud. I think many americans are being duped. I think she is right, although I never saw bush's little weenie. She might have me there.

You're missing the point, quite deliberately in fact.

TWB said:

Because they have the weapons we're trying to stop Saddam from acquiring. When he gets them, he can play the same kind of hardball with us that the North Koreans are playing now.

Please, if this conclusion is so evident, enlighten us with the powerful, convincing reasons thereof.

TB, North Korea does not yet have a nuclear device. They have enrichment capabilities and if they continue to proceed, they will have one soon. They admit it. We know it is happening and we are doing nothing. Iraq is very far from having nuclear weapons. Inspectors have not found them, and they are much easier to find than chemical or biological weapons because of radiation and the difficulty in producing them.

Ham wrote "Are Iraq citizens better off with Saddam in power? Should we wait for Saddam to strike again before we take him out of power?"

First of all, Saddam is not the fool he is portrayed to be. He is not insulated from making rational decisions. The US gave him indications they would not respond if he attacked Kuwait. It was only after that that he went it. The Bush 1 administration official, a woman and I can't remember her name, said it was a blunder on her part.

He is not a threat to the US. He knows we could walk in and stomp him at any time. North Korea sends weapons all over the place, and we don't do anything.

The disparate treatment of these two nations is, in my opinion, pretty sound evidence that there is something else driving Mr. Bush. Call it a small weenie or a family feud, I don't really care. But the amount of time, energy, and effort put into this by a guy who campaigned chastizing the Clinton administration about nationbuilding and not being humble enough in foriegn policy shows an underlying reasoning that does not add up.

Saddam is not a serious threat to the US. He has not been and is unlikely to ever become one. Saudi Arabia's links to Al Qaeda are stronger than Saddams, and they are our ally.

The time, energy and effort Bush is putting into this is all a propoganda effort to convince the American people that it should support George in going in and risking American lives and certainly killing many Iraqi's. I think it is a duping process.

Yes. We all think this. Each and every one of us. Know why? Cause we took a vote. We're a democracy, y'know.

There is only one way to end this arguement........Drop the bomb:eek:

Its an old saying....Kill em all--Let God sort em out !!

Not every American voted for Bush.

Not every American wants this war, which is evidenced by the numerous dissenting opinions posted here daily.

What a ridiculous post.

Ridiculous indeed to think that every American thinks the same, which the original post assumes.

I did not vote for Bush. I do not want to see us in a war, though it appears more likely each day. My post was intended to be ironic. What is ridiculous to me is people who make generalizations. Life and people are more complex than that.

So now you're contradicting yourself.
I thought you rednecks were so convinced he already had WMDs!?
LOL!

N. Korea and Krazy Kim pose a bigger threat than Saddam and anyone with a brain can see that. But the boy don't got oil so Bush doesn't pay much attention.

This is one of the major reasons for opposition to the war in the civilised world. We suspected the whole Saddam thing was a sham to cover up the inability to catch Osama but now that Bush isn't taking N. Korea seriously, we know that this whole "defending ourselves" crap is just that.... crap.

Okay, I missed the irony.

LOL. No problem--I should have been clearer!

Sorry, I didn't catch the irony either, and I'm the uncrowned king of it.

The CIA thinks they already have one. They also have missile systems capable of hitting Japan and they're working on one that can hit the continental U.S.

Bush's campaign was before September 11 changed his worldview of foriegn affairs.

He does have WMD's, but not nukes, you arrogant buffoon.

I thought America's weakness was a tendency to drink domestic beer and like it.

oh boy...

TWB:
As if nuclear weapons are the end all...an outbreak of Smallpox or Anthrax could do just as much harm as weak nuclear attack. Fortunately, any attack Korea could muster would be just that weak with a possible yield only in the Kiloton range. Just a smidgin of radiation and a few million dead. Smallpox could easily put the kabosh on a few mill in a city like NY or LA. And Smallpox is a much easier payload for a rogue nation to deliver. We will not even get into all the other Chem and Bio agents easily manufactured and deployed.

Saddam is the new Hitler...just look at the historical parallels that the two share.

As for what is really driving Bush...well Driving. Exactly! Has anyone been paying attention...$1.80 for premium ring a bell????

Fox...of course not every American is pro war...America has stupid people too.

Saddam needs to be stopped. He is acquiring deadly weapons...he is crazy enough to use them. Even more on point...he is not above sponsoring terrorism.

The U.S. invasion and taking of Iraq will be quick and for the most part painless. It will basically be an occupation. Iraq is just too weak to put up a fight against U.S forces. The major mission will be trying to stop him from burning all our precious oil!!!

Please do not worry about our men and women in the forces either. A majority of those brave men and women believe that Saddam needs to be taken out of power and cannot wait for the chanve to remove him. Unlike the many pantywaists who sit back here in American and bitch and moan about way.

Hey...don't blame me...I get 30 miles to the gallon ;)

Oh, lets bomb N.Korea while we are at it as well.

NEWSFLASH: NYPD may now be carrying machine guns!!!! woooo hooo its about time they start packing some real firepower!
