There was a bus strike here once. I was in my 20s going to university. It was common to see students hitchhiking close to the university. I picked up a girl that needed a ride. She was very cute, but I was a total gentleman and just made small talk.

Mostly it's used to be able to travel around. But when you couchsurf in your own area it's obvious that you do it because of the adventure and maybe risk.

We don't talk about politics or religion or anything that would start an argument. Not like that anyway. I only spend Thanksgiving with my family, so I don't need to get drunk in order to socialize with them.
