Alphas ~ Feral fire~ {closed}

You do not need to run and hide though we do need to get some sleep.

She watched him trying to figure out why she was comfortable around him. She distrusted everyone till now.

"I'm not trying to run and hide..." Cameron shot back, looking at her. Her eyes caught his again and something in the back of his brain told him maybe it was more than just his recent dry spell that was making him react to her. She was beautiful, there was no questioning that, but something about her just seemed to send him head over heels and he couldn't control it. Blinking he seemed to regain himself, and smiled while mentally trying to shake some thoughts from his mind.

Fine... we do need sleep.

She watched him for a moment then turning to continue wandering and trying to get comfortable to sleep.

Cameron waited until she rounded a corner before heading back to his office. Laying down on the couch he drifted off to sleep, wondering about where to go next.

The next day everyone reassembled at the office. Rosen found her sitting in the booth staring through the glass at Parrish a snarl curling her lips.

Rosen watched her quietly for a moment before speaking up.

"Is there something beyond the fact that it is him that is upsetting you at the moment? You seem awfully on edge about him yet you seem to have a need to be near him."

Meanwhile Cameron was still stretched out on his couch, awake but looking at the ceiling. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Nina walk in with a somewhat stern look on her face.

"Yes Nina?"

"So, how was the night shift here?"

"Awkward, but to be expected when you aren't sleeping on a comfortable bed I guess. Otherwise quiet. Why?"

"Nothing."

Cameron looked at her, then frowned slightly.

"Nothing happened Nina."

Nina huffed, turning around and leaving him there in his office. About the same time Bill walked in with a cup of coffee.

"She seems pissed at you. What did you do?"

"Nothing, which is apparently a bad thing. I don't know."

Bill shook his head. "I see there were no incidents over night. Any problems between you and Eden?"

"No. Talked about Parrish a little, the team. Otherwise it was just quiet. Kind of nice after the two days of running and chaos."

He is willing to turn the world into alphas. He says he knows what happened that orphaned several alphas long before our powers manifested. The world he says has to become alphas to make sure that never happens again.

She looked to Rosen a clear division in her eyes... the desire to rip him to ribbons and the desire to just torture the answers out of him.

Rachel looked to Nina.

You two broke up... and he seems to have a calming affect on her. So remember who broke up with who and get over yourself... so what if a relationship happens between them. It will be good to have her back here. The question is are you being protective of her not wanting him to screw up or hurt her or are you jealous that they get along?

Gary began talking faster and faster as he was scanning the data streams around him.

Someone is transporting what they are call in human animals... the images look like people...

Gary froze looking past the data stream to the others.

They said this time we make their animal kill them for us... The boss is collateral damage... he knows it they will all awaken or die.

Cameron looked in Gary's direction.

"Make their animal kill for us? Sounds like maybe they have plans for Eden."

Rosen checked his phone as it beeped, a message from Gary to come to the conference room, and to bring Eden.

"Whatever Parrish is saying he believes in. That doesn't mean he's right, or that his methods are absolute. Forcing a world to deal with something as drastic as a complete metamorphosis into something new could have devastating consequences. However I will make sure to press him for whatever information he may have. Gary needs us right now though, something seems to be up."

She glares at Parrish for a moment then follows Rosen.

Gary quickly without thinking corrected Cameron.

Get their animal to kill them for us and Parrish is collateral damage if anything happens to him.

Cameron looked at Gary as he processed his comment.

"Maybe they think they can force Eden to kill Parrish somehow?"

Rosen rounded the corner as he said that, looking at him. "Whats going on?"

Bill looked at Rosen, then Eden. "Gary intercepted another message. Something about transporting 'human animals' and 'make their animal kill for us, the boss is collateral damage, he knows it."

Rosen looked to Gary. "Can you pinpoint anything in regards to their location? Where they are or where they intend to be?"

Moving... bouncing several towers but I can try to follow.

Eden growled low hearing Gary's words.

They think they can make me kill. How Gary?

They have not said but there is heavy electrical moving with them.

Cameron grimaced at the thought of Eden being forced to kill, especially since she seemed to be working hard not to. "Well if they are transporting captives then we need to get involved, we just need to be careful. They are expecting us."

Rosen nodded. "Right, lets get ready to go. Gary, keep trying to narrow down a location so we can get to them. If you can give us a general direction then that is at least a start."

Bill and Cameron moved to get their guns and car keys, each electing to drive a separate SUV.

Gary guided them constantly updating GPS in the second car. Rosen had felt that it would be best to keep Eden in one of the cars so Rachel said she could ride with her in Cameron's car. Nina tensed but it seemed more not being near Eden looking to Eden knowing she was not comfortable in the suvs. Eden accepted R osen's concern and got in the car.

Several miles outside of town they found what seemed to be a transfer station with several parked semi and freight containers. Guarded tighter than fort knox.

Eden caught a scent as Rachel opened a window to allow her senses to stretch out and see what she could gather. Before any on could stop her Eden had the back door flung open and she was running low to get closer to the facility.

Bill seeing this growled.

Damn it Eden...

With that Bill motioned to Cameron to use the tracker tag round from the rifle in his suv since he had better aim.

As Bill motioned Cameron aimed the rifle. He saw Eden running to the facility, which didn't give him a straight shot. That didn't really matter though. His senses kicked into high gear and in seconds he processed the shot and pulled the trigger. The tracker round ricocheted off the edge of the door's hatch, finding purchase on Eden's back as the flap of her shirt and jacket flipped up from her running.

"Got her. Rachel have you picked up anything?"

Cameron opened his door just as Bill was getting out. It was obvious something was there since Eden ran ahead, but they couldn't know for sure. Bill grumbled under his breath. It had been nothing but chaos since Eden came back to the team and it was a bit unsettling.

Buzzing... like electricity.

Rachel shook her head trying to change to a different sense as the buzzing hurt.

Gary was on edge as well.

Lots of electricity and its not saying anything just buzzing.

Bill paused a moment and looked to Rosen seeing him suddenly looking very concerned.

What doc?

Nothing Bill we need to catch up to Eden... I could just be some faulty electrical fencing... lets go.

Nina looked to Bill and the others Bill nodded... Rosen was hiding something or knew more than he was willing to say but Gary's rambling confirmed their thoughts.

Not a fence... too loud for a fence and its not around us its up there.

Cameron, as well as the others, could tell Rosen knew something that he wasn't sharing. It frustrated him, but now was not the time to have a discussion or argument about it. He looked straight at Rosen.

"The look on your face says you know this isn't an electric fence. The sooner we know what we are dealing with the better." Cameron looked at Bill. "I'll head in behind Eden, see if you can find an entrance on the other side just in case."

With that he looked at Rosen once more, then started running behind Eden. He knew he probably didn't need to call Rosen out like that, but he didn't feel like running straight into a threat without knowing whats going on if he can be informed. Rosen knew something, he should be sharing that knowledge.

Bill gave an almost apologetic look to Rosen before heading to the other side of the facility. He found a door and tested it, finding it locked. He kicked at the door, glad he didn't have to amp up to kick it in. He moved carefully inside, gun at the ready.

Rosen wanted to be wrong. He had to be wrong. If he wasn't he would not be able to help any of them.

Rachel... focus on scent we have to keep in step with Eden.

She nodded and kept walking following Cameron with Rosen and Gary while Nina followed Cameron.

Eden had barreled her way in and finding a room with a cage and what appeared to be unconscious alphas in it of various kinds. The doors snapping shut behind her.

Getting to the door of the facility Cameron went to open it, finding it unwilling to budge. Putting his shoulder into it he tried to shove the door open, but still it didn't seem to want to go. Stepping back he looked over the door before making four quick shots, one for the lock and one for each of the hinges. As the last shot found purchase the door fell to the side, Cameron shoving it further away.

Bill meanwhile was moving slowly through the back of the facility, not seeing anything. He seemed to be in some kind of office area, long abandoned by whatever company had last used the facility for its intended purpose. Coming upon another door he took position near it, carefully checking the doorknob. As he cracked it open he heard voices in the next room. Crouching down he kept his gun at the ready, listening to the voices before charging in.

Once the feral is in place and they can't get to her we set off the electronic blast and by the time anyone can get to her it will be feeding time.

What if one of the others from their group gets hit with the blast?

Alpha abilities ramp up so high and hard so quick most she out and knock the person unconscious now get ready.

Voices in the office finally fell silent as they watched the monitors.

Eden was moving warily toward the cage a snarl at the chemical smell as she listened to see if they were alive.

Listening to the voices Bill only wished he had an emp grenade or one of the team had the ability to knock out whatever system they intend to be running. Peeking in he saw someone sitting at what looked like a control board while someone else was standing nearby watching monitors. Quietly Bill took aim. He wanted to maim, but he couldn't see a way to shoot the seated person without it being a kill shot. Frowning he watched as his luck change, the seated person turning slightly. In seconds he had shot the seated person in his right shoulder and the standing person in the back of his left knee. Rushing in he punched the person in the chair.

"Stay down." Bill growled at them before reaching for his comm-piece. "Gary, if you can hear me I need you at the back of the facility."

Bill pushed the chair away from the desk, cornering both men away from the desk and the door Bill came in. Bill then checked the other door to the office space, locking it. He wanted to just shoot the control board, but there was no way to tell if that would work or just set off whatever these two had in mind.

Gary hurried in the room.

What Bill you don't have to yell. Whats...

Gary began to hold his ears at the sounds and energy only he could hear.

This is it. This is the loud electronic.

Rosen race in with Rachel behind him. Seeing the console and studying it for a moment Rosen whipped his head around to the two prisoners.

Where did you get this? Where is the primary discharge device and how many are there?

He waited impatiently for an answer that finally came from the man with the leg wound.

Whats wrong doc... you would be able to stop more of us if what little attempt at humanity the animal of the team had was gone. A killing machines you can unleash on alphas you can't lock up in Binghamton? The system doesn't need us to hit its target and anyone around it. You should know that though.

Bill looked quizzically at Rosen, then the two men. He felt like mentioning a couple of things, but figured it was better not to do it in front of the suspects. He looked at Gary.

"Can you make sure this thing doesn't do what it was intended to do?"

~~

Cameron had been making his way through the facility slowly. He hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary, but he felt on edge nonetheless. Coming to an intersection of sorts he knelt down, looking at the ground. Determining which way Eden went he went further, hoping to find her before something went wrong.

Gary... Rosen began.

It can't hurt you in here. It is loud to you I am sure but it can only discharge from the primary focus. Can you try to stop the device from discharging?

Gary had heard them and what they said about its effect on Eden.

How will it hurt her? You have to tell me she is my friend and I have to know what hit will do.

Rosen nodded.

While you work on it Gary please see what you can do. The device was never meant to operate like this directed at a single person. It... if the frequency is calibrated just right... it can amplify alphas abilities. Another calibration it can shut off alpha abilities but in all tests it proved potentially fatal so it was banned from use.

Bill growled as he listened. He knew Rosen had things in his past he was not proud of but this seemed a little harsh even for him. Gary began trying to test the ethers around the machine to see if he could stop it.
-----------
Eden began working to break apart the cage till the sense of the room changed and she tensed. Their was a bite to the room the electrical surge amping every fiber of her being.

Cameron followed the sound of the cages being broken, and when he rounded the corner and saw Eden tensing up he could tell something was wrong. There was a feeling in the air he didn't like, like something was ready to explode or something. Setting a hand on Edens shoulder he caught her eyes, nodded to her, then went to freeing the other people.

"We need to get out of here. Somethings not right. Hurry people."

~~~
Bill clenched his fist, his knuckles turning white. He was controlling himself, barely. He intended to have words with Rosen once they got back to the office. He understood the need for secrets, but something like this. This should have been something they had been made aware of. If not long ago at least before they had gotten themselves too close to this crap.
Eden true to her protective nature made sure they were all out of the room shoving everyone through the door before turning as if she caught the scent of something and began scanning the room intently a growl curling her lips. The energy blast was no where near the strength it should have been and it was clearly designed to flood the room. Eden tried to get out of the room and had almost cleared the door before it hit.
Rachel saw the beam graze her as she walked into the booth with the others.
Eden...
