here please.....for all of you who have been to Vanity Fair you know why I am about to ask what I'm about to ask.....

Hey! I ate some of their popcorn and found it tasty...more than that I think it is more addictive than crack. It was yummier than the English language can convey....it was like normal lightly salted and buttery popcorn...except it was also mildly sweet. At first it tasted like caramel candy with out the caramel then it tasted like buttery popcorn with sugar....I went through a bag like it was grade a smack.

My final approximation is it tastes like normal buttery popcorn (which I have!) coated with the same sweetner that Cinnamon Toast Crunch is sprinkled with (which I don't have)

So my question is...you all know that grany, sweet coating on Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

What do you think I need to make it?

*pulls out pen*

What's kettle corn? Is that what it's called? I didn't actually go to Vanity Fair...my grandmammy brought me back a bag....

I'm thinking it's mostly brown and regular sugar mixed together but I really don't know.

I'm thinking that if you could bottle MC's smile you could sweeten all the popcorn in the world, ;) but failing that, I just happen to have a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch right here, and it says the sweeteners and flavorings are Fructose, Maltodextrin, Dextrose and Cinnamon - so I am thinking sugar and cinnamon would do the trick.

Ok, I don't remember which brand but there is a microwave popcorn out that has the receipe on the box. May even be called kettel korn (and I think it's one of the big brands like pop secret) Just had some a few days ago at a friends house. I didn't pay attention to what she put on it.:(

You're getting so good at that.

:D

Isn't Fructose sugar?

I really think there is brown sugar in it though. Just mix brown & white sugar with cinnamon and let me know how it turns out.

Sugar Corn or "Kettle Corn"

1/2 cup popcorn
3 Tbsp white sugar
oil for popping

Heat oil in medium saucepan until hot. Add pop corn and sprinkle
all of the sugar over it. Cover and shake continuosly until popped.

Hey, these threads provide me with good material sometimes. ;)

Isn't Fructose sugar?
Yes, it is a form of fruit sugar that is typically much sweeter than sucrose, which is plain table sugar made from sugar cane or sugar beets.
