Have any of you lovely ladies on here any good advise on what to do on a first date with a woman??

I haven't really been on many dates, and that’s why I would like to get some good advising from you all. Just let me know what you like, and it's ok if it's an unusual suggestion!

ShyGuy - treat your woman like a lady! Be thoughtful and kind. Make interesting conversation. Talk about yourself, but do not gloat. Try to find your common interests. Talk about those as well. Don't have a dinner date with someone unless you are really sure about them. Coffee or a drink is a good first date. If you want dinner or a movie after, you can just ask. If you or she is bored, you can end it without hurt feelings. There is nothing like sitting through a boring dinner date.

Don't order for the woman where ever you go. Let her order first, though. Pic ka place where she can enjoy the fare. Be considerate of her dietary restrictions and/or preferences. Be a Gentleman: Open doors, pull out chairs, bring her a SMALL token of affection (read one rose, small bouquet of flowers, something that reminds you of her). Most of all be yourself!!!

Hi ShyGuy - I'll echo the Princess - be yourself. Consider suggesting something you like to do, but don't do often by yourself - maybe ice cream cones and a walk in a park or garden. It's open, public and safe for her, gives you a myriad of conversation topics - flowers, people, kids, weather, city planning, whatever, and it's a little different from the usual.

Good luck - and we want a report! Vix

The secret.. For the first date and all others.. is this:

Quote the Princess Bride.

NO! Wait! Sorry. *cough* Not that..

When talking to the woman, she is the only thing in the world, everything else fades away. It's something my mother told my brother at the tender age of 12, and he hasn't been able to pry women off him since.

Attn men:

1. Follow the advice given herein....
2. Come on over and ring my bell.

(What my best guy friend does occasionally on first dates is if the date is going well he'll excuse himself to go to the bathroom, etc, and he finds a phone, calls up the home of the woman he is out with and leaves a message on her machine about how good of a time he's having, etc. Ain't that just sickly sweet or what?)

You don't need advice, sweet darling.
Be yourself. Follow the advice the others have given too.
Remember, she probably feels awkward too.

Don't keep telling her what a lucky lady she is to be with you. Grrrrr........ though she is.

Why Merelan thank you for that compliment! You should have come and visited me while I was in Massachusetts!

(But I would never say anything about her being lucky to be with me, because that's not what I think!)

And thank you for all the other advices. It's not that I have a date set up or anything, but it's always nice to get ideas about that to do. Especially since I haven't been dating much!
